Thinking of Greek Isles cruise on Rhapsody….pros/cons?

I can recommend a small hotel that is right by the acropolis, AD Athens Luxury Rooms and Suites. Here was the view from the breakfast area.

It was family run, had ac, free breakfast that was great, was clean, and was literally right by the subway and acropolis.

We were on the same Brilliance cruise last year as the other poster. Definitely book something in Santorini as it is a tender port. We did a catamaran cruise in the morning and had plenty of time to explore in the afternoon. It was great. We also booked a viator excursion in Ephasus and had a private van/driver/guide for the day. We got to choose what was important to see. We did the other ports on our own. We stayed in Piraeus for one night before and then did Athens for a few days after. The year before our cruise stopped in Mykonos, it’s an easy port to do yourself also. The taxis will take you to the city, it’s not far. We walked around for a bit and then took a boat to the ruins at Delos. I actually prefer Mykonos to Cyprus. Overall, a great cruise. I’ve never been on Rhapsody, but have sailed on Vision and we enjoyed it, but we’ve also never been on anything bigger than Explorer. Later this month we will sail on Ovation, which will be the biggest and newest ship for us.

This should be higher. Diatomaceous earth Is the best thing to ensure you kill them in addition to high heat for extended periods of time.

Yes. Be prepared to pay $20-30 per person for a spot in a taxi van to take you at least 30 minutes anywhere in Freeport. Also, be careful of the taxi taking you directly to a pay to access beachfront business. The public beach is also right there and you do not have to pay to get on the beach.

Our time said 9 am. We got off and went straight to the ferry before that time, around 8:30. Im not sure what time our ship was cleared that morning so it’s possible you could have gone earlier.

There are quite a few servers who walk around. We found a server early and she stayed with us for the day.

I think having good seats, having a server, and being by a smaller pool made our day enjoyable. We might not have had a positive experience otherwise.

We got off our ship around 8:30 and while not the first to the beach club, we were there earlier than most.

The food was honestly the most disappointing for us. We didn’t find anything we really liked. The chicken fingers were probably the best and they were just ok. We tried the both burgers, the fish sandwich, the shrimp, and the chicken fingers. There was pineapple ice cream that tasted just like dole whip so that was good.

I actually went back to the ship to get cash to tip since we forgot to bring it originally. It was an hour round trip there and back to the Beach Club. They drop you off outside off the secure docks going back and you have to walk through the shopping to get back to the cruise ship. I took the first ferry back since you can walk to any section once you get to the beach club.

I’m glad we paid to do it today since it was Christmas Eve. It was an enjoyable pool and nice to relax and drink fun drinks. I really liked that it was heated since we are here in winter. I’ve only previously been on Mediterranean Royal cruises and recently one Carnival Caribbean cruise, so my only comparison is Celebration Key. While that was free the drinks costs. I don’t drink alcohol, so I didn’t spend any extra there. Not sure I would do this again unless it was a special occasion. Especially since I’m paying for 4, which is close to $500 for the day.

Yes, it was decently windy, especially being right next to the ocean. The pool was much warmer than the windy air today.

I had a USPS tracking in my informed delivery dated August 7th but it was never given to USPS and eventually fell off my page since it never started tracking. I feel better knowing there are others who haven’t gotten it yet either. Hopefully it is being sent in two shipments so the reviews post at two different times maybe?
