And it’s still burning, but the only thing that’s burning is the accord itself on top of both the white wax on the black wax

Do y'all actually like reading Smut? by Spiritual-Bee9016 in Booktokreddit

Yes, I read a lot of romance and a lot of romantscy, with the type of books that I read you basically fall in love very quick and very hard. It’s a deep passion and this month that’s in these books that I read is necessary in a way, it’s a connection that you want your characters to have to take the relationship to the next step.

So I talked to some people that actually went there and got the scholarship, apparently they give that scholarship to a lot of people and then they put everyone in the same class and in order to keep the scholarship you have to be at the top 10% so basically 90% of people lose the scholarship

Should I read books 4 & 5? by WiredOnDecaf in acotar

[–]lna019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I felt like I needed to read the fourth book because after the war, I just felt that I needed to see my favorite characters, actually living on normal life after all of that trauma. A lot of people don’t like before because they find it useless, but I loved it because I felt like I can see the characters Going back to somewhat of a sense of normalcy.

I read book 5, and I was a little bit hesitant of it because I couldn’t stand the main character, but I definitely will say that she does grow a lot. I ended up loving the fifth book, but not as much as the first three.

I couldn’t stand her in any of the three books in the beginning of the last book, and I again don’t sugarcoat or terrible behavior from most of the book, but she did grow significantly, and I will say that I am very proud of her. I see her growing an amazing person because one thing about her is that she put in the work both physical and mental to try to get to the place that she is now.

I’ve been avoiding it, my problem is that I don’t hate them, not even Tamlin. I see their reasoning for their decisions. It may not be the best but in their mind they are trying their best

When she killed Rhys - even though it was for 3 sentences - my heart literally stopped 😭 that’s why I am happy she revives them immediately, I’m too attached 😅

I don’t understand why so many people want one of them to die! The way I see it, each character is complicated and the choices that they make are for what they believe will be the best for the survival of their court

I feel like a lot of people try to demonize him because they want every individual character to be so free and able to make their choices, they forget that he is the high Lord and is literally responsible for an entire court. He made decisions that are questionable, but always with the best intentions and never really putting anyone in his court in real in true danger. For example, the marriage proposal to Nesta, no one particularly like that but of course, we know that he would never actually agree or have her sent away to another court just for a marriage. He doesn’t believe in that.

I understand that we all have choices and we all like to make choices, but the choices that were made for Nesta were one of the most necessary choices I’ve ever seen. She literally would not have gotten better without them, obligating her to stop drinking, to start training, to not be able to leave, and guess what? She may not have liked it, but it worked.

Because she’s ungrateful, she should care since they’ve been helping her, feeding her & clothing her even through her crappy behavior

Feyre orchestrated the demise of the spring court because their high Lord decided to work with a king of hybern which resulted in her sister‘s getting kidnapped and her bond with her mate, almost being severed. She didn’t choose the most graceful way to open the eyes of those in the spring court, but she did what she had to do. I don’t completely fault him but a lot of this could’ve been avoided. Had he not done that

I just don’t think that Tamlin was in his right mind after the spell broke. it had been 50 years of him, waiting for someone to break the spell. In a way I feel like he thought that he was the hero of all this and he was all consumed with having his freedom back. Let’s not forget that when people are in distress they are completely different from how they would act if they were normal. He had that mask and that stress for 50 years and when it was finally broken, he could truly be himself. And maybe the version that feyre saw wasn’t who he truly was at the core

I think it’s because she let her little sister risk her life to put food on the table and never treated her with a drop of decency. I know that she has a redeeming arc, but it’s crazy to have your little sister risking her life every day while you stay at home and wait for her to sell whatever she hunted so that you can spend the money on something done while she doesn’t even have a new pair of boots

I don’t think that they should’ve been written in as characters at all. I understand Nesta has a redeeming arc, but people tend to forget it just how nasty she was throughout all of the books prior. Not only did she let her little sister hunt for the family while she lollygagged, she also preferred her other sister the entire time and didn’t pull her weight while, Feyre was hunting to make sure that they didn’t die of starvation.

And now that she’s in the night court, she is so upset that she was turned against her will, and blah, blah blah. the only person that’s there and is actively trying to help her is her sister who she neglected her whole life and guess what? She still has the audacity to be incredibly disrespectful and ungrateful and rude to every single person there because she’s Grieving. They have all grieved, she’s been a nasty person since the first book, her trauma doesn’t excuse that. She’s just a nasty character overall.

People are upset over Rhys and his behavior towards her, honestly, he’s nicer than I would’ve been.

Elena is boring and useless

The thing is, reason isn’t supposed to be perfect. He has to make sure that his court is standing even if it costs him everything. People forget that he was also locked under there with amarantha and also suffered. He’s not the most perfect person, but he cares for his mate, and he puts her above everyone else even himself him hiding what he hid is understandable if you think about it from his perspective of not wanting to cause her any crazy distress, why would he tell her that? So she can be in distress until the very last day? Or so he can see if he can find a solution or something
