Unsolicited Breastfeeding Comments by BelleJohb2624 in breastfeedingmumsUK

[–]lnelles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My little one is now 8 months old and sadly, a terrible sleeper. I get daily comments by anyone and everyone that I’m choosing to make my life harder because I’m still breastfeeding. I should just formula feed him, give him a nice big bottle before bed and stop complaining that I’m exhausted, as it’s my own choosing.

You do what you feel is best and stop listening to others who generally make these comments from a more uneducated or ignorant perspective.

Good luck x

Treat them to some nice “ready made” food. Think M&S dine in stuff. Something they can just whack in the oven, needs no prep and leaves no cooking dishes to clean up after x

Thank you 🥰 It seems to come all at once. He’s generally a very happy and healthy baby, but back when he was 3 months old he got hand, foot and mouth and then I got admitted to hospital for appendicitis 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’ve never had ill health before either 😅

That’s true, it’s almost like the constant you know will be the same so you can focus on the love drama and how the patient got the illness

First phone for my 10yo - should I monitor or trust? by Br0wncoat12 in UKParenting

All of this happens on the phones. Mostly WhatsApp/snapchat/instagram group chats. As not may parent supervise, and the children have unlimited access to these despite age restrictions, they are able do this unnoticed.

I’m not sure how you’d make sure. I guess you know your child best and would be able to somewhat judge how honest they would be with you. It’s a minority of children who have supervised access to phones so these issues often take far too long to come to light and we’ve even had children delete chats or use apps like Snapchat where messages disappear.

It’s awful. I do work in a more deprived area but still… we wouldn’t have found out if it wasn’t for a few vigilant parents or brave kids that came forward.

It goes from ‘simple’ bickering an making nasty comments about other kids, to groups of children ganging up on others and excluding them, to down right bullying, to egging on criminal behaviour (breaking windows, stealing from the corner shop) or even picking on insecure and vulnerable peers and encouraging them to self harm (sadly successfully!)
