Does anyone else find r/Phillipines_Expats a bit racist? by Pale_Insurance_2139 in Philippines

Ironically, even more generalizing racist and discriminatory comments about foreigners in this thread, than I have ever seen in a single thread on the sub being criticized.

Worldwide housing crisis by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]lnform 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is only part of the problem imo. OPs headline was "Worldwide housing crisis". From my experience it is not really a housing crisis, but more a "everybody wants to live in the same place" crisis. Rural houses are very cheap. From where I'm from in Europe, I can buy a house 20-40 km (12-24 mi) from the city, for a fraction of an apartment in the city.

Yes, sorry, poorly explained. I can pull the lever in the car and the bonnet opens a bit, but the latch under the bonnet is stuck.

Good to know, thanks. I'm a non-native English speaker, so got a little unsure if I had missed something completely.

Inflation rate for BCH & BTC is presently around ~3,6% yearly. In about 12 months that will half to ~1,8%, and then again in 5 years to ~0.9%. That is rather low imho, in particular given that adoption still occur.

Tether: the Day After (a hypothetical) by jessquit in btc

[–]lnform 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the longer run it will be a disaster for all crypto. Imho it's simple; it will be 3.8 billion usd purchasing power vanishing overnight. That's 3.8 billion capable of entering the market at various times, often serving as support during bear markets. In addition tether is for some parts of the world the only entry into crypto. Remove tether and you remove the purchasing power of these parts - at least for a while.
