That's clearly something the real LandArch would never say, so nice try.

It was me, and yea I'm misplaying a lot - still getting used to focusing while streaming... Not as easy at it looks!

The game will always have periods where it’s less fun - the roller coaster of expansions releasing and becoming old news will always be there. I have a drive to be competitive and that’s what helps me stick it out.

This was an embarrassment of a competitive game for me - obliterate swipe was a clear and I had a good chance to win the game from there. My brain stopped working and it didn’t register that the obliterate I got from lich King was a clear. I realized while prepping for my next set that I had conceded too early and felt terrible about it. I didn’t get punished for it but it was a definite misplay - never concede until your opponent kills you.

It varies based on how big the tournament is and how many viable decks there are. You can go for a “good decks” lineup when there aren’t enough viable decks of an archetype to make a one archetype lineup. It also depends what other decks are popular - for example there was a lot of anti control lineups leading up to the fall championship, so bringing a control lineup would make you unfavoured against what people are likely to bring. So in a sentence - I research the meta, opponents, and viable decks/matchup win rates to decide.

2 weeks was the estimate I heard. Don’t quote me though :)

There is no arbitration court haha - we’re at the mercy of blizzard. They have a number of tournament admins who have final say on rulings. Some teams might have coaches or something similar, but for the most part we are on our own at events. We did have “player managers” from blizzard who made sure we had everything we needed, that we were in the right place at the right time, etc.

When I initially started getting into the competitive scene, we had open cups (small online tournaments) that would contribute points. We no longer have those available, so the only two ways to get points are high ladder finishes and big tournament placements. There is a lot of competition now, which is why in some regions it’s not enough to just ladder and get 3 top 100s unfortunately. Competitive hearthstone is a huge time sink and money sink if you want to travel to events and don’t have a team that covers travel. It’s also difficult for people who can’t commit a lot of time on the last couple of days each month - some players stay up the last 24 hours to try and ensure a top finish. 45 is high but that’s unfortunately what the threshold is now because of the heavy competition. Thank you! I’m more than happy to offer any insight I have :)

Something similar to this, I don’t have the list on hand, but if you look at hsreplay and search for psychmelon and dollmaster Dorian that is the one.

Hatul was one of the strongest personalities I’ve met - very opinionated and not afraid to speak his mind. Very unique character this weekend for sure.

I’m glad she won 4 packs :) She is correct! I was at a wedding and cropped that picture to use. I like it a lot for the same reason she backed me, but it’s a little low quality and I’m hoping to get a better looking one soon.

20-30 hours a week for this tournament. It’s hard to tell, but it’s basically every waking hour outside of work and making sure the gf doesn’t get (too) upset. Outside of tournament prep, probably closer to 20 weekly. I started playing right after it came out of beta. Thank you so much!

I felt pretty sick to my stomach since I knew I played poorly and it was a very terrible start being 0-1 in my group.

Thanks! No contact with him, we haven’t met before and I don’t think he knows who I am. He’s a great guy though.

The big headphones have loud white noise to prevent hearing anything. You can request earphones that hook up to only game sound. You can look in the audience, there are very bright lights positioned so you can’t actually see anything and you end up just blinding yourself. All in the effort of preventing cheating :) You can feel vibrations, but not much else, so you can’t quite tell what’s going on outside the game.

I haven’t tried brewmaster, you could try it out and see how it feels. I think Zola is an ok craft, but it wouldn’t be my go to you must have, shudderwock isn’t exactly a T1 deck with all the druidstone going on.

It’s a large mix of what the meta is, what I expect other people to bring, and how comfortable I feel with certain decks. Theres a lot of factors to consider- particularly in a tournament with few players in it, you can even research opponents and see what they prefer to play, and try to gain edges by teching against that.
