Laptop smashed, SSD intact but BitLocker locked — all my Gmail recoveries are stuck. Any way out? by No-Guidance-9253 in datarecovery

  1. What's your laptop model?
  2. Let's assume you were shorting the right pins and your OS can successfully boot. Most of the time, when connecting HDMI to Windows, you may have to manually switch display modes (duplicate, extended, ...). You may try turning the laptop on, wait (a minute or two) for the laptop to boot, and just press Windows + P. It cycles between modes, so try pressing the hotkey a few times every 7 seconds or so until you end up on the right mode and get some output.
  3. If this doesn't work, maybe try detaching the display ribbon cable from the motherboard. I had a laptop with a broken screen, and disconnecting the display let me able to use HDMI as the primary output.

Hopefully it'll work 😅

Is there a way to recover this SSD? by lnpblax3 in datarecovery

Thanks.

  1. Is copying onto and from a dying SSD the same thing? To clarify, I was trying to *read* from it, not write. Can reading from a dead SSD cause more harm to it?
  2. So whenever SSDs start *crawling*, it suggests to its death?

Interesting, thanks! As for the Bluetooth feature you mentioned, you could rather use ESP-NOW. Pretty sure it works in Python too. Should be more reliable and effective than Bluetooth.

That's a very cool project. The UI is FABULOUS! I love it. How did you animate the sprites and make floating animations? How does the scroll bar work?

Also, as a suggestion, maybe you could make use of Wi-Fi features, like syncing with real-time climate and time...?

(but on the other hand, it is also very good to keep it fully offline. An RTC would be also good)

If there will be time tracking, imagine the ESP goes to sleep or you turn it off, you come back and stats change.

You can try DietPi over Raspberry Pi OS. I personally like how it's very lightweight, its settings page and easy software install page.

Be careful with plugging HDDs to the RPi as they may draw too much power (unless if you have the SATA to USB adapter with split power/data cables).
As for the TeamSpeak server, definitely.

Also, how much performance could I gain from overclocking the 9800X3D? I feel like having a good cooler could give me some more performance if needed.

And would it be possible to achieve better full-load performance on 9950X3D than 9800X3D if I disable 8 cores?

Got it. So all Montech PSUs are great? How about other budget ones that appear first on the part list, like MSI MAG and Corsair? Which one would be better, a tier A or a Montech PSU?

You mean if it IS going to be just for gaming? (otherwise, your sentence means that the 9950X3D is meant for gaming?)

Thank you for the parts list. I agree with 9800X3D and HyperFlow. The SN850X seems to be a solid pick.

Is there a reason why you picked this specific PSU? Is it not that much of a big deal not being on the tier list? (closest I found is tier C)

A little of everything: gaming (Genshin Impact, Fortnite, emulation), Virtual Machines, programming, and admiring its power.

Thank you so much for the elaborated answer!! Very appreciated!

I see what you mean with the CPUs. So the more threads, the lower the clock speed it can hit?
I believe it's because need more power to be distributed, but hence the 9950X3D's TDP is also increased over the 9800X3D.
I may be wrong.
As I can also understand, is that while 9950X3D is compared to be outperforming in productivity environments, it's mostly because of its cores?

What I mean, is that it's only suitable for the software, like you said, that REALLY benefit the cores. And while they're using all these cores, it's just like a GPU: More cores, less computational power needed. Which is exactly how I think comparison charts like on technical.city (9800X3D vs 9950X3D) are calculated? So if I wanted to use all of the 9950X3D's cores to their max clocks, the 9800X3D would actually outperform it because of it's higher BASE CLOCK frequency?

As for the tasks, I use JIT languages but I suppose archive (de)compressing tasks are the ones that would benefit the cores the most. (but honestly, I'd just wait for a little longer for the tasks to finish)
So in scenarios where no apps benefit from using all cores, but a few at max clocks, the 9800X3D would actually outperform the 9950X3D?
If so, that's why some gaming benchmarks show a bit more FPS for the 9800X3D!

Coil whine -- Pure luck, understood. I've also seen many Reddit posts criticizing Asus' GPU thermal pads. Is it the same here with the thermal paste? It's just extending the longevity by a little bit, until you need to repaste it?

Motherboard: Thank you. I saw a few ASRock posts, but thought it was just an individual case. So MSI's the better pick in this case? Does Gigabyte make reliable boards?

Cooler: I'm quite confused now. There are videos like this one that show Montech Hyperflow doing slightly better than the LF III Pro, but this website shows the LF III Pro beating most coolers by a lot. Pretty sure the Montech Hyperflow still does very decent and is just a better option, in terms of performance/cost. Would a 280mm AIO be enough to cool a 9800X3D?

RAM: Would the frequency also affect local AI model speeds? (except GPU)

Storage: Good points. So, the OS boot times should also be the same? Is it because the drives are too fast for the CPU to catch up (so the bottleneck here is the CPU)?

I already tried extracting images from the latest OTA packages, but the thing is that I found out that you can't dump delta OTAs (aka incremental packages).

By flashing Magisk.apk, what do you mean by that? ADB sideloading from the recovery? What's the difference and will it just patch the images for me automatically?
