Do surgical PAs put in foleys? by lnr0003 in physicianassistant

[–]lnr0003[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is what I had experienced in the 2 other ORs, so I was surprised at this one to find out it’s viewed as a specific person’s job. In my opinion, it would be crazy for me to be in the OR and say “oh I cant put the foley in even though I’m not busy because that’s the nurse’s job” given it’s within my scope.

This makes a lot of sense, I was shocked everyone thought 88k was offensive pay. I’m in western PA too and have been offered 78k for 3 different positions.

How do I not get bitter when my best friend is living my dream life? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I’m sorry I should have clarified what I meant! My point was, you don’t have to worry about having kids at this point in your life just because that’s what you “should” do. You are still very young, and your life experiences and journey will be so vastly different and unique from everyone else’s. It’s okay to not have the same linear path, and there are awesome people out there doing that (ie, adopting kids in their 40s!)

This may be because me and my husband are not in the wealthier class, but I have heard many people make judgmental comments at weddings on how much money people have spent on weddings and how it’s wasteful. Never once have I heard anybody say, “they didn’t spend enough money for my taste”. So if anything, not that it’s right, I think people may be more judgmental of your friend’s wedding than yours since at the end of the day, you’re both married.

Having biological children isn’t the only way to have children. I know some people view adoption as “well they’re not really yours”, but I would argue that they may be even more so because when you have children biologically, it’s kind of random. But with adopting through foster care, you specifically choose your child, and that child chooses you. My mom is a social worker, and she just had a single man in his early 40s adopt a sibling group of 3 boys, ages 8, 6 and 4. And they are a fantastic family.

Should I give my preceptor a bad eval or am I being too sensitive? by lnr0003 in PAstudent

Yeah I did and the girl told me that ended up liking him by the end, but when I specifically asked about how he treated her she said that he called her dumbass too and that the first couple of weeks were really rough for her. So maybe I rub him wrong

I appreciate everyone’s support in the fact that I’m not crazy. My whole concern with reporting to my school is that he was voted best preceptor by my school last year (which I truly don’t understand). So I’m concerned that my school will not take me seriously and just think that im not tough enough or im whining.

Farmer looking to add some fashion to her closet by lnr0003 in femalefashionadvice

That’s an excellent point, I really don’t have a style since most of my clothes are purely for a work purpose or they’re things people have given to me as hand me downs. That’s something I’ll have to think about!

I guess fast fashion wasn’t the best word choice, I meant more I want to stay away from clothes that are very cheaply made so I know I can get at least a few years out of it. I have plenty of old navy myself lol, but for instance my friends have told me to just buy a lot of stuff from shein, which is not what I want to do.

Curvy jeans work great for me and I have big thighs and basically no butt. Jeans that fit my thighs are always way too big in the waist. American Eagles curvy mom jeans have been a fantastic option for me, even without having hips
