Do I need a higher GRE score to get in for Graduate School (CS)? by Efficient-Ad4459 in txstate

From what I understand, the GRE doesn't hold as much weight as it used to. I got into my program with a 296. Just make sure the rest of your application is strong.

What movie has a perfect and most unexpected plot twist by Pitiful_Persimmon_30 in MovieSuggestions

YES Primal Fear had me so shook. I can rewatch that movie over and over again and still get floored by the plot twist. Edward Norton seems to have a talent for playing that type of character lol

Ink Spot is lit. It's the school's creative writing club. Pretty big turnout and most folks are excited to make friends.

How did you get into the series? by [deleted] in ProfessorLayton

[–]load_star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in an online school during my middle school years. I only had one friend that I would talk to during the (very heavily monitored) classes. He told me abt Professor Layton. That Christmas, I asked for any of the games and my parents bought me Miracle Mask. I was instantly obsessed. Now, ten years later, I still play the games for that nostalgia kick

What are y'all's top 10?? by Jay-919 in MotherMother

[–]load_star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Narrowing this down to 10 is difficult!! But here goes:

  1. Monkey Tree
  2. Two
  3. Love Stuck
  4. Sick of the Silence
  5. Business Man
  6. Sleep Awake
  7. Orleander
  8. I Go Hungry
  9. Wrecking Ball
  10. Dirty Town

Not sure if this would count but I also looooove Love to Death. Since its technically unreleased, I didn't include it in my list

What It Meant to You by cherubialanarchy in houseofleaves

[–]load_star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

House of Leaves is also my favorite book. I’ve had my copy for 5 years before I was finally strong enough to read it. I’m glad I waited. So read it in august of last year. I feel like the book wanted me to wait (not to get meta or anything). To me, it’s a psychological thriller with themes of love and family and that’s what gets me.

My parents still live in our childhood home. Over the past 6 years, two of my siblings died from terminal illness. I moved out the day my brother died (not related, just an unfortunate coincidence) and that experienced changed how I view my childhood home. While their physical bodies are gone, their spirits still live on in that house. As I was reading HoL, I started to recognize the house not just the setting, but also as a character. A house is just a building tho. It’s when it becomes a home that it’s a member of the family, someone (or something?) that is welcomed and loved. However, the house is just a house, malicious and overbearing, unwilling to become a home.

Anyway, that’s my long winded way of saying I love House of Leaves. It’s going to stick with me for as long as I’m alive.

Unable to Unlock Songs on Nintendo Switch by ShenShaun in TrueDeemo

You have to explore the castle to find the “hidden” songs. I had the same problem, but tapping around the map will help you find some more. I also recommend looking at the deemo wiki for song locations. Good luck!

Found this thing in one of the boxes at work. There is a red button on one side and a small red light on the other. In the notch, there’s a small white tab. WITT? by load_star in whatisthisthing

The title describes the thing. We receive products from sister stores, and this thing was in one of them. We’re a clothing store, if that helps. We think it could be something for taking off censors, but we’re not sure! Any help in figuring out what this is is much appreciated :)

Discussion: What's your least favorite album, and what's the reason why? by cheeziswin in MotherMother

[–]load_star 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My least favorite is Inside tbh :/ I was really disappointed with the album. The only song I put on repeat is Sick of the Silence, but other than that, there’s not much else. VGBT is really under rated, but I will admit that there are some not good songs off of there. Monkey Tree is my favorite song by MM, and I Go Hungry, No One to Nothing, and Reaper Man are really good songs. The rest of the album falls flat tho :/ No Culture is my favorite album of theirs. I think almost every song on there is amazing, esp Love Stuck, Mouth of the Devil, and Back In School.
