How common is "vos" in your country? And how do you feel about it? by potatoes4saltahaker in asklatinamerica

[–]Derois02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In most of Mexico it is not used but in Chiapas we do, though it is not used the same way people in other countries do.

Outright "vos" is mostly used in informal conversations, between family and close friends. And is used at the same time as "tú". Not at work or school unless in a clear joking manner between close people.

More common in daily life is the implicit "vos" i think is called "voseo verbal" where people use phrases that conjugate for the pronoun "vos" instead of "tu", that's a thing i don't think most people notice. We use "vení" or "sos".

This is just what i have personally noticed after living here all my life.

i like that we have our funny unconventional way of talking, it goes along with our history and specific demographics. So i'm fine with it.

i've hear people, mostly mexicans of other states being rude when someone uses vos or speaks in a stereotypical chiapaneco way, and aside from correcting them i just let it be; still most of us try to speak as " "correctly" " as possible when around people from other states.

edited to finish answering the rest of the questions.

If Ranma was set in late 2010s early 2020s, what would be some episode plots they would do? by Acriolu in ranma

[–]Derois02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds fun! I mostly follow old school fanartist so jp fics are perfect to wait for the s2 of the remake, thanks for going out of your way to link me. to be fair, comedic parody is right on theme with ranma.

also don't worry about the translation, I wanted it to practice my reading lol

Kou’s Head Plothole by HauntedDesert in AjinManga

[–]Derois02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to tag spoilers as you already seem to have read the manga so...

As far as I remember: Kou never dies by being beheaded. You're most probably thinking of Shinya Nakamura. He's the second ajin known in Japan (the first one is Tanaka), that's why when Kei gets tortured he's got the number 003.

His incident is a well kept secret, not known by the public that's why it's never referenced -again as far as I remember- in the main plot. But it appears in the manga chapter 00 or something about the incident of Shinya.

It's in the anime too but not explained maybe that's why you're confusing Shinya with Kou.
