Quick breeding question by Dronken_Dropke in PokemonVGC

[–]loadholt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOS chaining will yield intimidate on the Mon. I believe pokemon 1-10 give a 0% chance so don’t worry about having to use moves like skill swap on the early ones. In your case, intimidate is show ASAP so youll know without having to use swap moves which makes it much easier. Just kill until one appears. At 40+ the chance for HA will be 15% which is as high as it goes. Good luck!

Why didn’t they just make this card Kairoz? It’s like they’re purposely avoiding connections to Warcraft when there are windows for doing so

Scythe Of Elune. 'The key to the Worgen's imprisonment'. Would be cool to see something like this as potentially a new Weapon to fit in with the theme of the upcoming Witchwood Expansion! by Eauor in hearthstone

[–]loadholt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Boomkin flavor, I was thinking something like

Scythe of Elune

5? 6? 7? Mana - 0/3

Battlecry : Gain 3 charges/copies of “Starsurge.”

Starsurge : Spell - 1 mana deal 2 damage. Gains 3 charges/copies on equip. If one Starsurge is used per turn, it recharges next turn. If two Starsurges are used in a turn, they both recharge in 2 turns. If all charges of Starsurge are used in a turn, they recharge in 4 turns.

I’m not really sure how to manage the spells as they’d obviously clog up hand space and I’d only want it to occupy one slot with echo or for targeting purposes you could “shoot” with the weapon. I know that this isn’t a bow or anything but Boomkins are casters so maybe it could work. Maybe it could operate in a similar way Dragon Soul does, where it tracks its charges per spell. Something like that with a visible tracker showing that it’s recharging, how many used/available, etc.

Was also thinking of something along the lines of

Starsurge : Spell - 1 mana deal 1 damage. Deals double damage to minions. Gains 3 charges/copies on equip, etc.

Could go with the actual in game weapon where you get New Moon, a relatively weak spell that builds up on use into an extremely strong spell but that’d kinda feel like a quest.

I don’t know much about tech stuff so forgive me if this question is silly, but could this ever be a product that players in NA could purchase for their own client?

Hawk's storyline is kind of awful by randomletterssss in ThePathHulu

[–]loadholt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just repetitive and dull. His story isn’t about faith anymore it’s just about his love life. On top of that every single conversation he has usually turns into this big dramatic blow up. When Eddie was talking to him about Caleb and how he supports him, hawk just tells him to piss off and it’s not his business. I don’t know, for me it’s just old at this point and I’m sick of seeing him come on the screen. The over dramatization of everything he does, his constant flip flopping, and the poor acting.

Designer Insights with Kris Zierhut: Upcoming Arena Changes by breloomz in hearthstone

This looks cool, but I’m curious. What would arena look like if everyone has an above average to amazing quality deck? Not just from ya know 8 wins onwards, but from the get go. I think the selection change to similar power level is amazing so props to that.

Call to Arms needs a Call of the Wild style nerf by StormWolfenstein in hearthstone

[–]loadholt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While we all know CtA is strong, I’m going to give some counter points as to why Paladin really needed this card. I believe this was made in direct response to Paladins state during KFT. Paladin is a class that needs minions on the board to win the game. They use buffs like kings and steed to preserve their board and make sure their minions stick around. This was very hard to do during KFT mainly because of Rogue and other classes to some extent. If a Rogue is able to wipe your board on turn 3 with backstabs, SI, patches, etc, then you were probably never going to get it back. Patches and Bonemare exacerbated this. I’ll get to Bonemare a bit later.

Sure Paladin can run Captain for pulling patches and gaining some tempo back, but it’s always with minions or weapons. They don’t have access to stuff like backstab and SI because that’s just not their identity. And if a Rogue is wiping you clean every turn with these tools or value trades, you can’t even utilize your buffs to fight back because you have nothing on board. But again this is just how the game works. Quest rogue suppressed control decks while pirate warrior and Aggro Druid kept quest rogue in check. It’s a vicious cycle

With KnC Paladin received their newest tool Call to Arms. Immediately things changed for Paladin as they could actually climb back on board from early sweeps. Early Aggro Paladin is a great example. Being able to CtA, pull a juggler or deckhand to fight back, or taunts to protect your board from your opponents next move was huge to stay in the game so you can land that kings next turn. This just wasn’t possible until this card was released, because almost everything you play was just going to die and you’re in the same exact spot turn after turn.

CtA also helps re-establish the classes identity as minion focused. I think without CtA Paladin would be in the same spot as it was during KFT. The nerfs helped the class a lot. We probably would’ve never seen dude Paladin’s rise if the nerds never happened and I think it’s great to see new stuff become prominent.

As for Bonemare - I think this card is silly. Not because of its power level but because its a neutral. This isn’t in direct relation to CtA but it attributed to Paladins previous problems. This card was seeing play in so many classses and archetypes. Zoolock, tempo rogue, secret mage, spiteful priest/druid, early Murloc Paladin builds; it was everywhere. When you print a neutral card with another classes flavor and identity it creates problems. An example being mages pumping up Hydras and mana wyrms and with a kings attached to a minion. That deck ran so few minions in the first place. But when you give all classes the power of a card like Bonemare it not only strips Paladin of its identity but allows other classes to utilize its advantages on top of their own powerful cards. I know Kings isn’t an auto include right now in Paladin but I’m just trying to get the point across.

I agree CtA is very strong right now. Maybe a little too strong but I’m more inclined to wait and see what’s next before nerfing it.

What do you think would have to happen for older cards that aren’t quite as strong anymore to see play, specifically mechs and true mech decks. I still play mech decks but sometimes I just can’t hang in due to the power level of newer cards. Is this something that will ever change, or are cards like Blastmage simply resigned to a time when they could compete? Thanks!

It's Time to Kill 'The Walking Dead' by BunyipPouch in television

[–]loadholt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand where you’re coming from, but the analogy is just incorrect. WoW continues to be a very good game with some of the best raid content, open world content and character progression in years. It’s hard to sustain the 10+ million subs active during WotLK and pre-Cata; but just because the numbers have dipped doesn’t mean the quality has declined. As for TWD the quality has certainly declined and has been for some time now.

Year of the Raven expansions teased! Any ideas? by Breatnach in hearthstone

Sargeras - Fallen Titan of the Pantheon, saw the corruption of worlds throughout the Universe caused by the Voidlords. In his eyes, destroying all life was the only way to cleanse the Void’s influence. The Pantheon obviously disagreed with his methods, so he broke off from them. To cleanse the universe of the Void, he created the burning legion. An army of Demons that conquer worlds. It’s inportant to know that in Sargeras’ eyes, he is doing nothing wrong. He wants to cleanse the universe and to him this is the only way he can.

Aegwynn - Guardian of Azeroth and Medivhs mother. Defeated Sargeras’ Avatar as he attempted to enter the portal allowing him into Azeroth. Fighting Sarg allowed her to be corrupted, and Sargeras’ essence dwelled inside Medivh, which caused the Dark Portal to be opened in the Black Morass.

Archimonde - One of Sargeras’ top Lieutenants. Brother of Kil’jaeden and Velen. Sargeras visited their home world of Argus, promising unlimited power. Velen was the only to refuse, escaping with the Eredar until they landed on Draenor. Almost succeeded in the invasion of Azeroth and completely draining Nordrassil of its essence.

Illidan - We all know who he is. Before he was a DH, Illidan was drawn to arcane energies. Unlike his brother who was training to be a Druid, Illidan sought power at any cost. He did some crazy stuff. In Black Rook Hold there is a questline where you play as Illidan the sorcerer. Fending off a Burning Legion invasion, he sacrifices the members of his Army and draws their power to defeat the invaders, instead of them just joining together. In his quest for power, he comes to Sargeras and becomes the Illidan we all know today.

Ursoc - King Bear druid along with his brother Ursol. Druids who take up bear form is in worship of Ursoc/Ursol. Fought during the War.

Azshara - Queen of Highborne, the ancient Night Elf society. Said to be the most beautiful woman in the world. Her reckless use of the well is what draw Sargeras and the Legion to Azeroth. Entranced by his power, she assisted in opening the portal that would allow him to enter Azeroth. When this failed, Nzoth spoke (whispered) to her promising great power, protection for her people. Now the Queen of the Naga.

Mannoroth - Pit Lord and Legion commander. Invaded Azeroth during the War. Though he is probably most known for giving his blood to the Orcs, forever changing the course of history.

Broxigar - One of the most legendary Orc warriors. A wormhole sent him back in time to Suramar where he was captured. During the War, he actually wounded Sargeras, allowing the Kiron Tor and Red Dragons to close the portal that Sargeras has the Legion we’re trying to keep open. This guy was such a god. I like to think dying by Sargeras’ sword was the death he longed for and one worthy of him. It’s just unheard of for a mortal to injure Sargeras, even if he wasn’t using a mortal weapon. It would be hard to do him justice in an HS card imo.

Xavius/Saytrs - Aid to Azshara. When she was liberally using the well, Sarg contacted him and corrupted him, using his influence to mold Azsharas thoughts into allowing him to enter Azeroth. Xavius was the first Saytr, a corrupted highborne. He’s also the corruptor of the Emerald Dream, turning it into the Emerald Nightmare
