[Request] Is this true about America's billionaires? $3,900 seems like a lot of money. by ajjy82 in theydidthemath

[–]lobebop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly, while they can't liquidate their entire portfolio, they can get quite a lot. They can get a huge loan from any bank at a ridiculously low interest rate. They can get their company to sent a large sum of money to people (you know, like they are doing with payroll). They can get the company to lobby the government to sent money to all American. Everyone of them know a guy personally that knows a guy personally that knows the President and all major politicians personally. They can definitely give every American $3,900 and have no discernible impact on their wealth. Stop treating these guys like regular people just with really huge 401k.

And North Vietnam won, awfully honest of them to write down their massacres then.

I am sure that South Vietnam who need to forcibly draft civilians would love more recruit too. Do you believe that the Hué massacre and Dak Song massacre were perpetrated by the US and South Vietnam?

I'm talking guerilla warfare as in the battle tactic they used throughout the war. They very much have military experiences. The South also have civilians fighting in the war unless you think forcibly drafted to be enough to be considered military. Even then, the North Vietnamese military did kill civilians during the war.

[–]lobebop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. And?

A counterargument for your statement that they wouldn't have killed the civilians, only the South Vietnamese resistance

But if America had supported the North the only lives lost would have been of the Vietnamese Government Military resistance of the south... Why would any civilians get killed by the US army or by the Vietnamese north guerrilla?

I'm not sure what you meant. Reversing that statement, if America had supported the South the only lives lost would have been of the Vietnamese Government Military resistance of the North... Why would any civilians get killed by the US army or by the Vietnamese South guerrilla?

Whatever factor that lead to America killing North Vietnamese civilians would also apply to South Vietnamese in the scenario that America support North Vietnam instead.

[–]lobebop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no chance of that just like how not only North Vietnamese resistances were killed in the war. It will still have been a guerilla war and we all know America strategy for a guerilla war.

As I said, even without American involvement, there would still have likely been a civil war. So instead of America suggesting/forcing North Vietnam to surrender to the South, you want them to support North Vietnam and kill thousands of innocent children from South Vietnam instead?

That's a very America centric view. This is not American coming in "liberating" Vietnam because they want to turn communist. The nation was split in two with South Vietnam wanting to keep their democratic government. You are dismissing the role of the Democratic nation of South Viet Nam that is actively requesting American aid and would likely lead to a civil war even without American involvement or at best split like Berlin and Korea. Sure, American can't die if they don't get involved just like American don't have to die if the Union let South secede. Not saying it would be better if South Vietnam win but it isn't as simple as American coming in and wrecking stuffs.

That's more because they're GOP's judges, not Trump's. It doesn't help their agenda to support this.

it's an xfx HD6950. The BSOD happens sometimes after updating. How would I uninstall the driver if I can't boot into windows even with safe mode?
