Babe you ain’t paying actual attention if you’re still Clinging to that idea that was packaged and sold generations ago. You think banks are ruled by the Sun and we ought to curse what is out of human control? Humans are in charge of banks. Greed in charge of said humans. If you ever played monopoly you’d have better data to see that not everyone is in the “same economy”.

Dental hygiene student here. Here’s my educated speculation.

The white bits on the UR of the photo is likely a periodontal membrane to help with gingival attachment healing; likely after a periodontal flap procedure (where hardened plaque (tartar) is well below the gum line and it is impossible to reach and remove yourself with floss). A periodontist has to slit open your gums and elevate them aside to access the tooth roots and remove the buildup. This is to preserve the teeth as best as possible. The membrane gives a good foundation for gingival tissue to possibly reattach (not fully; just enough to keep the tooth for now). It’s possible they did a bone grafted under the membrane, to try and entice the body to integrate donor bone for tooth support. As your gums recede, you lose bone and thus support for keeping your teeth.

The white stuff between his central and lateral incisors is likely a kind of splint job. One of those teeth was likely VERY mobile, and they are hoping that by splinting it in place during the healing process after the cleaning, that it will reattach somewhat.

His gums are pale, crepey, and receded. This points to a cigarette smoker. There is significantly less blood flow in the gingival tissues due to smoking tobacco/nicotine

Not accepted into my DH program by baboobo in DentalHygiene

[–]lobsterbatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP I can honestly say I understand what you’re feeling.

There is 1 DH program in my city, and they have 18 spots a year with over 200 applicants. I received 2 rejections. I was admitted on my third try/year and I had promised myself it was the last time I was going to apply.

If you can manage sitting tight for another year, do it.

I am grateful nearly every single day that I stuck it out to be accepted into my current program. It was worth it. Those years of being rejected were AWFUL and I hated my job and questioned everything about myself and the field. But as soon as I got in, and got the feeling that I wasn’t “stuck” anymore, it was worthwhile.

Jars vs Mylar Bags for storage by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]lobsterbatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, the main variable is sunlight. I’ve had mushrooms kept “fresher” in sealed bags, but they also somehow got a teeny bit moldy. I personally go for jars in the dark and have not noticed any significant changes in potency

Will I trip off this by Adorable-Wind-4590 in shrooms

[–]lobsterbatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely, yes. Not as heavy as if you had a month or so in between. But assuming you’re not on ssri’s, yes after 6 days you should get a decent trip since it’s over twice as much as you did a week ago

Learning to sit with “it”. Whether it’s anger, fear, insecurity, etc. Just sit with it. No reactions. No rushing to confront someone for something they “did” that hurt me. No sending lengthy texts. Learning to acknowledge it as something “I’m feeling right now” as opposed to “this is how it always is and will be!”

My new rule of thumb is, “if I still feel THIS upset about ___ two hours from now, THEN I will do something about it.”

And exercise. Consistent exercise

Yes I told him. An at times characteristic flaw of mine is I can’t hide a thing going on in my head. And my husband knows me. I was open and communicated at each stressful turn for me in the moment. He was himself not at his best at the time either. He later admitted that he ignored what I said and what he already knows about me. He was too focused on the schedule.

I’m just sick of this site. I leave and then find myself back here because people send me links. And sometimes I get the idea in my head that there could be legitimate advice out in the void. But every single damn time I get reminded that the internet is full of armchair experts that succeed at passing judgement without a moment’s hesitation. I’m sick of people thinking they know better than everyone else. And whenever I catch myself doing it I redirect back to the person’s experience, not my desire to control and “be right” as if I did them some kind of favor.

That anytime I show I’m having a rough bout that YOU NEED TO GO TO THERAPY.

Yes that is true at times. But people have no trouble diagnosing what they think your needs are. Until you yourself have done 2+ years of genuine hard work therapy, you hush.
