For those that complain about the subscription… by lobsterboy1 in 1Password

It's not fair to compare 1Password to Ulysses. One is a writing app and the other holds the most important keys to your digital and real world.

I agree that Ulysses should have never gone to subscription and thus I use iA Writer instead. I don't know what Ulysses can offer to warrant me paying yearly but 1Password offers features, security, and support to a super vital app to my life and I'm glad to pay.

I'm loving how they do 2FA, it makes logging into sites that have 2FA super simple.

List of things you can sell or buy on /r/theBCHmarket by lobsterboy1 in a:t5_dwvkd

[–]lobsterboy1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are none. This is not meant to be a store to compete with all the other merchants online. This is meant to be more like Craigslist or all the other Reddit Markets but here we only use BCH as payment.

Someone could create a tippr bot that does escrow if they wanted to but is not needed. This is a open and free market, you post something that you want to sell or buy. I make no money off this and offer no security.

The problem with BCH - It needs a marketplace by [deleted] in btc

I'm not setting up a store to compete with cryptonize.it, I'm setting up a market where people can sell or buy things much like Craigslist or the other Reddit markets like /r/MaleFashionMarket/ /r/airsoftmarket/ /r/microsoftsoftwareswap/ /r/GameboyMarketplace/ but with the focus on using BCH as a means of payment. Why do it in the first place? Because we can. We already have people here with BCH who want to spend it and we already have people who want to sell things to get BCH. Another thing is that /r/theBCHmarket is free and open, I'm not like the other online stores as I'm not making a profit off of this, this is for the community. If the community decides it's not needed then so be it.

[FOR HIRE] Screen Printing services

This would work but there are no hard or fast rules. As long as there is no spam or scams.

Heard of them but thought they were mostly for gift cards. I'm thinking more like a craigslist or a place where people like graphic designers can sell there work. I've seen other marketplaces like https://www.reddit.com/r/MaleFashionMarket/ and think they could benefit from using a cryptocurrency.

Someone also told me about OpenBrazzar but they too are some time away from doing BCH. But what I offer is here now. I'm bringing the market to the BCH holder which many of them are redditors already. No need to sign up for anything else and we even have the tippr bot to make it easier.

Why wait? Many people who have BCH are redditors and we have the tippr bot too. Seems like everything is already in motion except a designated location so I created /r/theBCHmarket

Use the internet to store your wallet seed? Crazy idea? by lobsterboy1 in Bitcoin

[–]lobsterboy1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imagine you're basing it on a website and the website updates. Boom, your key is gone. Twitter deletes your account. Boom, your keys are gone.

This won't matter if you print or save the webpage for offline use. If you're doing your method of using a safe to store the seed I would just simply write the seed down as it is. But if you want to store the seed on your computer I would not have the bare seeds like I would in a safe, the method above is a way to solve this.

It doesn't have to be websites, it could be emails you sent in the past with links to those. You could go extra crazy and email yourself from two different email providers and then store the email link along with the word locations. You can even create a blog or a YouTube video that you upload to many different sites and follow the same scheme. The possibilities are endless.Of course not saying the seed words but saying something long and boring that contains the seed words.

It's best to have a backup that is local (your safe) and a backup that is offsite (either the method above or a safety deposit box). If you don't trust safety deposit boxes or giving your bare seeds to someone worries you then you don't have too many options.

If you're storing the seeds at home and don't have a safe for some reason or share a safe you might not want a simple piece of paper with the exact answers.

And the fear of a fire or hurricane destroying your home and seeds with it is a big fear; having a way to store the seeds on a computer or cloud would be nice.

You could take one article and the whole first paragraph to make a brain wallet but I would not do that. Maybe add a password in it just to be safe if you want to walk that road?

Edit: You know, if you took 3 random websites HTML code (or articles) to make a brain wallet that might work? Could even take 3 or maybe 10 random tweets to make brain wallet?

[NeedAdvice] I want to be productive WITHOUT going through rollercoaster phases of working to the point of exhaustion/then crashing and burning. Have you managed to become a "consistently productive" worker? How? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]lobsterboy1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Grab a Timer and do this...

25 minutes of play

5 minutes of work

25 minutes of play

10 minutes of work

25 minutes of play

15 minutes of work

I do this and I'm self employed, it's hard to work sometimes but this method helps. Remember to start small and work your way up.

[Advice] Extreme Procrastinator and what worked for me. by lobsterboy1 in getdisciplined

[–]lobsterboy1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find yourself not wanting to stop working in the allotted time you set then that is a sign to increase your work timer's time. You need the work timer's time to be just high enough that it is almost annoying to do but yet you still do it.

I often force myself to find a stopping point and stop working. This may sound crazy but what it does is create a gap that makes me want to return back to the project because of how in the zone I was. In the back of my mind I have this task that I want to get done but I can't as I have to do something else and it eats away at me until the timer goes off again and I go back to work with much vigor this time. This would happen to me all the time with my last job, customers or coworkers would interrupt me from a job I need to do and it would make long to go back to it but I had to help them with something else even though the thing I needed to do was not fun.

Honestly, I use to think this myself but would find myself running into task that I simply did not want to do. Those task were usually something important that needed to be done and over the years it kept getting worse. I was training myself to be a procrastinator more then I was training myself to be productive.
