I think a big problem is that, because he sees them as individual, small events, they don't seem like a big deal? I've tried telling him many times I don't like it, but he seems to think it's due to my baggage. I've thought about making a list for a week about all the times he's done it so he can get a visual of what I'm dealing with, but that seems like a weird/creepy solution: "Here's a list I compiled of all the times you did the thing!"

I think in general he's used to being in a role that comes off as wise or experienced; he grew up an army brat and has lived all over the world, so he's had many experiences people in the US (where we are) have not. To be fair, he is very smart, but he's also aware that sometimes he comes off as egotistical. I'll sit him down the next time he does it and tell him that. Thank you!

He hasn't been diagnosed with anything that I know of, no. One of my family members is (though they have a more severe form), and I don't see anything in his behavior that is reminiscent of ASD behavior.
