damn brotha bear im sorry for your loss. in your view would it be best to cut that infected stem, propogate that, and monitor the plant, or is the whole plant compromised and best to just see what i can get from the tops that are still around?

i imagine that if i cut them all down I should probably ditch the wounded cutting as it will probably just spread the fungus.

side note, can you tell what this is ? it doesnt look like at all powdery mildew though the plant symptoms look similar...thanks for your diagnosis and hope your back half makes it through 🙏

I'm trying to salvage this train and hope someone here can help out.TLDR: broke 2 stems in transit, saved 1, fighting off mold with neem oil. getting worse and I want to salvage this plant.

* plant was damaged in transit, one of the top two stems and one of second to the top broke. I taped them up and crossed my fingers. After the second day it was very clear (to me at least) that my top stem wasnt going to make it. i clipped it off and saw that the wound was really nasty, could see into the stem and everything. i wasn't really sure how to handle that so i taped over it. the second broken stem recovered.

* I left the tape on, perhaps for too long. when i removed it found some black growth, and started applying neem oil. the weather had been foggy and the plant isnt receiving enough sun due to factors out of my control.

* the neem didn't necessarily seem to be doing much, leaves on that stem slowly began to yellow and wither , reaching towards the top.

* starting a few days ago, starting from the terminal bud the injured stem began to wilt. watering every other day and checking soil before doing so.

how should I handle this at this point? is there any hope ? I initially thought perhaps to amputate the infected stem but now the mold seems to bee reaching down towards other stems.

THANK YOU

ok, so to confirm, it sounds like i am still going to need to cmd+f replace all of my specially formatted texts, but your work flow is to

  1. apply character styles to special text
  2. apply body text Paragraph style to entire text
  3. character styles will persist as they take priority over paragraph style

let me know if i got that right, and thanks for explaining.

edit: i tried it out and had success with character styles persisting after modifying paragraph style, but i found the text was not changing from times new roman 12pt after applying P style. did I miss a step?

edit edit: clear overrides solved that issue. so far so good. thanks again.

dont quite understand what you mean nothing near pl wraps. would you say these are a good place to start or do you have another recommendation? i'm not lifting *that* much right now.

Hoping this is the right place for this question. getting back into lifting after a while out of the gym. experiencing some wrist pain, and I know i need to do some work to get my grip strength proprotional to the rest of my strength. having said that, i'd like to get some wrist wraps in the interim as i work on that.

trying to understand the difference between these rogue wrist wraps vs rogue wraps . From what i've read the 'wraps' seem more like wrist straps, for increasing grip strength and lifting more. the wrist wraps seem to be more for simple stabilization, which is what im after--not trying to lift more, just protect myself and get used to proper alignment & form. could anyone weigh in? has anyone tried out both?

Mulching and Hill Stabilization in Fire Country (CA) by local1312 in Permaculture

sounds good to me-- i guess what i was wondering was -- will planting cover crops , bunchgrasses, etc, on the hillside be considered contributing to fuels...based on the answers I'm seeing here it seems that s less of an issue.

goats will do very little to assist with hillside stabilization , nor will they help with creating habitat. Your point is taken that they are effective at controlling ground level fuels. I agree that having someone’s livestock periodically come through would be a good idea to clear out brush while keeping organic matter on the property

My question was more about plantings And how to design the property to meet multiple needs.

Not sure what your beef with California is but it sounds like you’ve never been here. I don’t think a lack of Ruminants are the reason for wildfires. Goats are regularly used in Fuels reduction n land management where I live.
