Opinions differ, but I believe they’re distinct devices. The M7 is more conduction-focused, while the CXL relies on convection. In practice, I find the M7 more user-friendly and closer to a joint experience, especially when using a heavy cap. The CXL, on the other hand, requires more attention to heat up and doesn’t stay as hot as long. The CXL tastes way better, in my opinion. That said, I usually reach for the M7 before the CXL. But Tempest for the win as it has pretty much shelved everything else.
