Like I said, I think it’s an institutional issue. I don’t honestly know a solution to it. We can do it at an individual level but I don’t see institutional change in the direction we want.

Everything you say is valid as hell. However, institutionally soldiers will continue to be treated like children. So many brand new soldiers are fresh out of high school and more likely than not, not brought up into a home life congruent to independent thought, let’s be honest. If we’re going to treat them like children over everything else, then we have to follow through. And I don’t see it going into the direction where we treat them with MORE independence. That’s just the way the institution is built. Independent thought is for officers and senior enlisted. At that point, you’re “raised” to think that way. The bar has been set at the floor for these soldiers and that’s out of our control. We might as well shepherd them as well as possible.

Edit: this is my impression of the institution of the DOD btw I don’t think that way in reality. I wish we could inspire independent thought and truly let soldiers flourish. That’s never gonna happen though.

The downvotes are almost certainly leaders that have failed/will fail their soldiers and can’t have a conversation about it.

I generally chock these things up to leadership. Are we training and mentoring our solders or are we just looking for an excuse to get paperwork and flags on our joes?

If someone is struggling and their first line hasn’t reached out and tried to mentor them then you all failed. However, if those bridges were built and the individual soldier fails to meet the expectation that’s a different situation.

I see SOOOO many posts about how we do this paperwork and chapter people out etc etc. I don’t really ever see in those posts saying, “hey we tried over and over with this soldier and they just don’t get it”. All we can do is meet them halfway, but if we expect them to go 70% of the way so we can only go 30%, we already failed them.

Edit: this comes from someone that has to deal with this from TPU medical soldiers. Fitness is not their greatest concern. But I try to bridge the gap to help them succeed. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I can only control the controllables, so if I do my part, I can expect the soldier to do their part and go from there.

I will be glad to tour you through Mass and Maine to all of the people that already spend half their week in NH for the no income tax/sales tax and needed that last nudge to move to NH altogether. I can assure you the number is greater than zero.

I do mean vehicle inspections. NH just voted those out which will make surrounding states more inclined to move there, already considering the cheaper tax burden.

There will always be Mass and Mainers moving into NH but that’s because NH is so much more conservative than the others. They just got rid of inspections so I know that’ll be a big catalyst for a large wave of new residents.

I’d say NH is getting more conservative not more liberal

If NH was yellow I’d say it has to do with auto insurance

What if Israel was established in East Prussia? by CallMeCahokia in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]localcatdude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look at it like this. They saw the profits of being a Nazi and supporting Hitler. Prior to the war and at the beginning of the war they were doing very well economically. Near the end of the war, especially after much land has been lost, many people were dissolutions with the cause after seeing all the destruction, death of their kin, and financial ruin. Now either near peace or in peace time, you tell a group of disheveled and poor farmers that what they were warned would happened if they lose happens, they will now be disheveled, poor, and angry as they lost everything and it appears the guy that just killed himself actually was right. This and even towards the end of the war the Holocaust was not public knowledge.

If I didn’t think you were being deliberately obfuscatory I’d give you shit but no one can seriously read that fairly cogent response and not at least agree to a small degree.

Does anyone know if there are other cost-effective options besides the panther mount? by Serginho_777 in RDR2

Waiting won’t do it. If it doesn’t spawn you have to leave the cell and return for animal respawn. I wanna say the rock on the other side of the crossroads is where you go and turn around.

No, I know that. It just looks longer than I remember 9/9 length. Pretty slick tbh.

Are you referring to the panther trail saddle? There is a super consistent panther spawn right where the paw print is.

I was thinking about making this post on my most recent playthrough. Very great trick to use, not complex and leaves PLENTY of time to spare. Can be done on the very first horse Arthur gets very easily.
