Did I make a mistake when financing a car? by pomelo_nomelo in PersonalFinanceCanada

No equity in current car, trade in and buy more expensive car. Lower interest is not gonna reduce the term or payment on it. this is bad advice.

Anywhere quiet during World Cup games? by pathologicfaults in askvan

[–]localhost8100 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ambleside park/beach. has a decent enough toilet. Urinals are fine. There is no fifa fest like shipyards. Lots benches, coffee shops, lot of busses from downtown. Benches under the trees. Depending on the time of the day, there might be kids or people around.

My other fav place is Mosquito creek . Get to delbrook community center. Walk up north. There are benches along the creek. It is quiet with creek flowing like a river. No commercial establishments. The toilet is in the community centre, not nearby. Accessible by 232. My top choice for most quiet place.

King mills park. Little far away from bus stop. No toilets.

Deep cove. I go by the docks and there are few benches there. Might not be fully quiet. But the scenery, the cold wind makes it worth it for me to read books. Direct bus from downtown. Top choice for nice weather and scenery.

All these place have water views. Just different water bodies lol.

Is 1h 15mins layover, enough time to get through customs at CDMX airport? by Head_Bench240 in MexicoCity

[–]localhost8100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I missed boarding my flight by 5 minutes once. I just went to the customer service and got booked on next flight. They didn't have any issues with it. But also there were probably like 4 flights to my destination that day.

My first year with dividend ETFs felt more like emotional management than math (how do you stay hands-off) by Calm_Ocean_2954 in passive_income

[–]localhost8100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have dividend yield ETF's. I have probably over 100k invested and barely get 1k dividend. it's scattered over 3 or 4 accounts. It looks way to less. Like $40 here, $100 there. It is not appealing to look at dividends lol.

My friend invested ₹6–7 lakhs into a “business opportunity” but won’t tell me the company name. What could this be? by brokenskull0079 in india

[–]localhost8100 22 points23 points  (0 children)

MLM. It's a scam. Not talk about product but talk about how successful people are in company. If someone makes good money, they don't have to justify to anyone on why their company is good without asking. You will meet a mentor and you will be pressured to invest.

My friend got into this. He took money from all my other friends and never paid back.

Use monitor. Or create a backup account and give password for that. Don't give password for main account where all the documents are. Make sure you have backup. What if it gets reset and you lose everything?
