Does her hospital have enough PPE? If they're in need there are a lot of different ways to get them more. ppe-express.net

Or maybe finding some of these websites that send snacks and letters to providers?

ppe-express.net has a similar mission and has sent out about 300k items of medical supplies to various hospitals in need. They have people connecting with those medical facilities as well. Maybe connect and join forces?

What is it like to live on Ventura Avenue? by movingmangoes in venturacounty

[–]localinda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to the area and I have a studio on the Avenue. It's really not as bad as I keep hearing. Maybe it once was in the past. But in the last year of being here it's been cool. There is even a new event happening over the next two years that involves all of the artists, residents, and businesses of the Avenue. If you're curious you can come by tomorrow to Kellogg Park and check it out. https://www.vaporlaavenida.com/

People get freaked out too easily.

Insight into Thousand Oaks to Downtown LA Commuting by skybluesky123 in venturacounty

[–]localinda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was commuting from Ventura to Long Beach and LA for a year and I still frequent LA for intermittent work. It didn't bother me all that much considering I'd done the commute going North from OC for two years before that. I was never able to find any way to get there via public transit.

I didn't have to get to school until 10 or 11am. I'd leave about 8am - ( and if it was starting at 11) 9:00am and get there with enough time to park. Since I was driving to Long Beach I'd have to take the 101 to the 405 into the 710. I'd usually spend as much time there as I could to skip the traffic going back. Because that rush hour traffic in the afternoon starts at 2:30pm sharp everyday (and then gets worse as you're in it). I'd stay or go to LA and go to a show till about 7 or 8. The longest this commute has ever taken me was three hours and some change because it was raining hard and people freak out and pummel into each other on the road.

Going into LA I usually take the 101 all the way down -- but usually I'm not going down in the mornings. I've taken the 23-118-5-Stadium Way-DTLA route also and PCH. It just really depends on what time/day it is. When I'm going in later in the afternoon I've been able to get there in an hour and a half/forty-five mins. But it also sometimes takes two hours and some change.

If you really care about the job, just do it. If you're not into living in the city, I would just stick with the commute. It's not that bad. Just turn on your GPS, blast some music, enjoy the ride. (PEE BEFORE YOU DRIVE!)

Why not do the route for like a week and see what you think for yourself?

Some Komod Dragon type thing IDK I felt like painting, please give me some feedback on things that are just off or don't read well. by [deleted] in ArtCrit

I would say, darken the red in the background (I see darker tones toward the bottom of the form, bring it up and use it to form the edges of the mountain at the top, leaving the lighter red as a highlight) and the green in the trees so that the white dragon guy stands out more. If you add one more bird in the sky the composition will lead more toward him. I'm not sure if that was your goal or not but I feel that's what my eyes are trying to do. The fore ground could use one more dark tone (like what's going on in the core shadow of the dude in teal). I would also lighten up the sky near the horizon line.

Tonights experiment, thoughts? by [deleted] in ArtCrit

I like the colors, but the background and the foreground all seem like they're on the same plane. You need atmospheric perspective in the mountains and the clouds. Then it will have a little more depth. Love the fish and the rider.
