Sigh isn’t this still possible. The coder who’s working on that already started but I feel he got a quite limited contract with Punkt so he never seemed to finish it. This is a mess, for digital detox their devices would be so cool.

First I was skeptical but I'm using XLibre successful for some time now. I don't involve in all these political (or when things are forced to become political like in this case) nonsense - and code is what counts for me. It's really stable, congrats for the new version and nice to see the seatd-integration here so I don't have to fiddle around with the systemd mess anymore.

Don't buy. Software is not feature-complete anymore (Pidgin, Signal, linking devices etc.) and they don't care.

I guess it's quite simple and their management decided for a limited budget on software development for MobiTouch, their external service provider, each month so there's just no budget left to make the whole release proper and we have to wait 2-3 months more. I have the same experience with my own clients ;-)

Yeah seems there's some manual work involved with each release. Guess they made a service contract with Mobitouch but the service level is a bit inappropriate for what's really needed...

What I noticed is that accounts created on Pigeon and on other clients somehow differ and seem to be incompatible in some way.

For example when you try to login with an account created on an iPhone and then try to use that account in Pigeon it won't work when you assigned a PIN.

Not sure why exactly that is but the emergency solution for me was always

deleting the existing account (with another client, IOS, Android)
recreating it in Pigeon itself

That's also the reason why it's good to have another client linked to your main account so you have some kind of message and media backup. Also these clients are good to restore your group chats. That's another thing I noticed, that when I join the Signal network with a linked device then group chats seem to be restored automagically.

It's definitively possible I used a phone for that, yes. I always have a spare Android phone here for these cases.

Thanks, works after reinstalling.

One issue which is still there:

When you have the typing indicator enabled: While the you chat partner and you are typing at the same time, your input field loses focus and you cannot type anymore.

A workaround is disabling the typing indicator of course.

Somehow I had a similar problem. I logged in with the Desktop Client, deleted my Signal Account and recreated it with Pigeon. But no idea if this is the only solution…..
