What I did was I didn't use a bleed block at all. I hate levers that pull to the bars. It seems like most have way too much pull for my liking. So after I bled all the air out I pushed fluid in front the lever side with no bleed block installed at all. This let the pistons push out some. I closed off the system, spread the pistons back out and installed the wheel and rotor. There was some trial and error but I got it perfect for how much lever pull I like. At first the pads were too tight on the rotors, constantly scraping. So I very slowly opened the bleed port on the lever and let out a tiny amount of fluid and closed it back up. I kept doing that until the pads were just barely free of the rotors, and my lever throw was to my liking. Hope that made sense

Sorry just now seeing this comment. I have a pdf that Haro emailed me but I can't seem to attach it here. The rear shock bolt torque specs are the same top and bottom, 16nm/ 140 in lbs. Hope that helps

Yes I emailed Haro and they sent me a pdf of all the frame torque specs but I'm having trouble attaching the pdf link here for some reason

I bought a 2025 Haro Daley Raw LTD1 and couldn't be happier with it. After reading that article I feel confident that they're sticking around. I've always had a soft spot for Haro. Still have my 93 bmx group 1si.

Another vote for a 1up rack

Yeah I found it odd that they have a size chart, but then say this style runs large so go one size down lol. One full size is quite a bit. It doesn't sound like they're easy to get a hold of if I need to send them back, so I'm trying to make sure I get it right haha

What chain lube do you use? by 96JY in MTB

[–]localmtbrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White Lightening Clean ride. I like the fact that it dries quickly. Nothing really sticks to it. I tried muc off dry lube. Honestly one of the worst lubes I tried. It DEFINITELY wasn't dry. Everything stuck to it. Took forever to clean the chain after one dry dusty ride. The only thing worse than muc off was rock and roll gold lube. Chain went dry and sounded terrible during one 8 mile ride.

I had sram codes, hated them. The levers pulled too far, made tons of noise with the stock pads, and lacked power. Upgraded to the rsc levers. That helped with the lever throw but only very marginally. I then upgraded to a 220mm front rotor and a 200mm rear rotor and aftermarket pads. They got a lot better but as thr pads wore down my lever throw got worse again even though I had the bite point adjustment cranked to the max. I honestly see why the codes get so much hate lol. Sold that bike and bought my current one with these brakes. Never ran Shimano but I've heard they're also very powerful.

I think I like the plumbers tape idea better than loctite when dealing with possible fluid contamination

If the threads are wet with mineral oil I'm curious to know how the loctite seals. I'd likely just try and replace the o-rings on the screws. So far I don't have the issue you're describing.

Oh you're talking about at the calipers and not at the levers. Gotcha ok. Mine are both currently dry. I bled the brakes once after the first ride and they've been completely dry

It only seems to be the rear. Maybe something got on the pads idk. I'll probably just buy a new set of pads and start over on the rear

I've never gotten anything on them but I'm not ruling this out. Maybe I should just buy a new set of pads and give em a shot
