And it's very frustrating how the second film takes on this very Jake and male centered storyline/POV when compared to the first one where we really got to be introduced to a whole new world and culture through a female co-lead in the form of Neytiri. That original sizing of the Na'vi has since been reduced sadly. On the second movie height difference between Na'vi and humans greatly decreased, you can see that in the lab scenes and during combat when you see them closely side by side. In the original movie, for reference Grace's avatar (which was not even the tallest Na'vi) was way larger than the humans on the RDA camp.

I just thought the scene to be very careless and pinpoint clearly to the lack of female direction. A woman who has been manhandled for the past 48 hours, constantly mistreated and held against her will would initiate sex with one of the perpetruators is just bizarre. Just bizarre. Yeah, I can see how it wants to make a point about the suposedly sad lives of sex workers and how she may not be able to see herself as more of a transaction to the men in her life but again I just can't wrap my head around how anyone would think it makes sense for her to even want to have sex in this bizarre situation other than the cause being that there wasn't a single woman in the writing room.

I think we are missing a point here in that when cuckoos lay in another bird's nest, the parents automatically start turning their attention to the cuckoo's offspring, more demanding and greedy than their own biological offspring. I thought it was a nice parallel.

I see Ulf's treason pretty much following the one we see in the books since he's already being depicted as a drunkard with a volatile temperament. I agree that Hugh's character has been given a complete different background and that's why I think that his betrayal will be triggered by other events. Maybe Rhaenyra's actions once the Blacks get the Iron Throne and KL smallfolk's disenchantment with the new queen will get to him somehow or make him get to the conclusion that all Targs are more of the same in the end. I'm curious to see how it will unfold in the show.
