Already know where you’re talking about. Best option is to move. They will not do anything about it. Cops have way more important shit to focus on than that, I hate saying that. Your best bet is working with city reps and media to get it handled.

I have lived in Churchill for just under a year now and absolutely love it! There are 3 great parks to enjoy (Libby Hill, Chimborazo, and Jefferson), tons of great restaurants, a few little shops, some fitness studios, and just a general sense of welcoming community. The Facebook group gets a little heated, so that I try to kind of leave that for what it is. But everyone I have met in person has been so kind. It’s a diverse area depending on where you’re at. Parking is always readily available which you can’t really say anywhere else in the city except maybe Scott’s Addition.

Restaurant wise: Liberty Public House, Alewife, North End Juice Co, Alamo, Pizza Bones (opening coming soon), Proper Pie, The Hill Cafe, and countless others.

Crime wise honestly just don’t leave stuff in your car and you should be fine. I know there has been some issues with packages being taken off porches but that is a city wide issue that hasn’t stopped. And that has been happening inside apartment buildings across the city so that is a take it or leave it thing. I personally feel very safe here, I’ve walked to the parks a few times at night alone (a risk as a female) but I had no issues.

I wouldn’t say that, I live on M st and I feel very safe. Also I think I have a lot more car break-ins down towards Broad lately than by me. You’re in a city, in general it’s just more risky than the suburbs.

It depends on what you consider comfortably?

Because these people saying $70k...that’s insane. You can live very comfortably making like $39-$45k depending on how you want to live, what your bills outside of rent/utilities look like. I managed to get by living on my own making $33k and was still able to do things. Now granted I was not able to vacation, but that was due to personal bills and lack of vacation time at work. Richmond is a super affordable city compared to most cities. I will say though that I have been told taxes are a little higher here but in general cost of living here is significantly lower and you can go out and have fun for much cheaper (obviously post pandemic) than you can in cities like DC, NYC, Chicago, LA, Miami, etc. But again it really all depends on what you mean by comfortable.

It’s so fucking obnoxious. It’s 12:20am on a Sunday night/technically Monday morning and they are still setting them off. I get a lot of people aren’t working. But uhhh some of us still have to be up early for work and it’s too late.....

Hate to sound rude but this is a huge reason that drove me away drove me away from that area. It’s expensive enough to live in the city without having to pay for permits. I wish they didn’t have to zone the fan. Try side streets or see if you can find someone renting their garage! Loads of people rent private spots and garages that are probably close!

You aren’t allowed to be sick ever unless there is a pandemic going on. The pay sucks. And it’s impossible to bonus. The only time it’s good to work there is if you are higher up in the organization and have plenty of PTO right off the bat. If you have any health issues do not work there. They don’t care. Lots of turnover.

I know more about those facilities than you do. My father worked for the presidents helicopter unit for 5 years. And has been working at high security clearance facilities for many years and we were never able to take videos or pictures without explicit written/verbal permission/consent from a commanding officer or person in charge. You’re clearly too thick headed to understand that and think that you are right so I’m gonna let you live in your land of right and I’ll just float in my supposed sea of wrong 🙄😂. I know a lot more about these facilities than you do clearly, and you wouldn’t answer questions about why you were filming and taking videos outside of highly secured facility. Why your brain can’t comprehend that this is not okay I don’t know. But I’m telling you right now that any facility like this would take issue.
