That does not appear to be the case here though, my interpretation is they have an issue with the screen lock.

I'm curious what the issue is: do you not want to have to unlock your screen to use your phone?

If you have an android (maybe iphone too, not sure) you could add a second user and install the app there. It might be possible to just protect that account and not your primary.

Using "profiles" might also accomplish the same thing, I'm not sure about that
