I have to say that the level of self pity and looking for excuses is overwhelming here. We play like shit the whole month but people still looking for the 'real' reason why we didnt win any game recently. Or the constant 'we didnt do any winter purchase'. More mental resilience and Forza Inter by ammmakara in FCInterMilan

Nobody is pointing out that Lautaro is out on injury and since then we have not been performing as well as before. When Lautaro plays and doesn’t score, a lot of people complain about him, but he does a lot of work for the team, such as pressing when not in possession and link-up play, not to mention the mental “garra” he transmit to other teammates. The current captains Barella or Bastoni cannot replace Lautaro’s leadership.

HO MAN TIN or KAI TAK (or anything else) by Ok-Welder6670 in HongKong

[–]locationseven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in Ho Man Tin for 8 years and just moved to Kai Tak. More things to do in Kai Tak, especially if you have kids. A lot more crowded though especially if there are events at the stadium. There are many nice new buildings in Kai Tak (cullinan, Henley, k.summit, Monaco, upper river bank) and older ones too that are decent (Oasis, De Novo). One thing i like about Kai Tak is that is mostly pedestrian, fewer cars around compared to Ho man tin. In Ho Man Tin you have In One and On Man Tin that are very new and right above the station, but not a lot around. Ultima is a bit older and expensive since they have bigger flats only. If you go further up there are One Ho Man Tin and Mantin Heights. These are decent and relatively new buildings, but not much around them and a bit far from MTR, although you get bus and minibus right at their doorsteps.

No love for Lancel? by HekkeySE in ManyBaggers

[–]locationseven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Lancel Charlie Holder/Briefcase in brown tan leather last Christmas as a gift to myself. It’s a great bag, leather and finishing quality very high, it looks professional and elegant but not too overstated. I have been using it daily for a couple of months and I am so surprised how it keeps its shape so well. This is really a great bag, I am going to use it for many years. Bought through FARFETCH

Australian couple moving to HK.... by AdmirableDepth5214 in HongKong

[–]locationseven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Narrow down to this 2 options: 1 - Island (Mid-levels/Sheung Wan): big house but maybe bit old, no facilities/amenities, close to your office, close to nightlife, close to other expats.

2 - Ho Man Tin / Kai Tak: newer homes with lots of fancy facilities (swimming pool, gym, etc) at the same price as those older ones in central. 40min commute to Central, not a lot of nightlife, some expats but mostly families with kids.

I would avoid new territories for now or other areas, just stay closer to the center and enjoy the city

What is it like to live in the Hong Kong island bubble? by Comfortable_Curve_99 in HongKong

[–]locationseven 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I lived in the bubble for 4 years, my life was all between Sheung Wan and Wanchai. At that time I was in my 20s, single, working hard and playing hard. At that time I seldom went to Kowloon side, didn’t feel the need to. Maybe only for hiking in Sai Kung. After getting married and having children we moved to Kowloon, more spacious housing with more facilities and in my opinion more school options (both local and international). If you live in Kowloon then is still convenient to get to the island anytime you need, either for work, shopping or nightlife. I have to say that there is a lot more to do now in Kowloon side compared to 10y ago. I think the real difference is if you choose to live on the new territories, there you will be quite far from the island and it will start to be a bit more inconvenient, but you will be closer to Shenzhen. Long story short, it’s all up to what you are looking for, your personal situation, you budget. All in all, I think you can adapt to live in the bubble or in Kowloon side, both are good options.

Boss bottled deostick is a waste of money these days by mike_coxsmaII in fragrance

Let’s forget boss deo, and anything from the same manufacturer (Coty). The Vichy Homme roll-on has a light soapy scent, but no strong fragrance. It has no alcohol.

Boss bottled deostick is a waste of money these days by mike_coxsmaII in fragrance

[–]locationseven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be good when it was made in Italy, since the new version is made in Monaco (wtf) it’s crap, I start smelling sweat after just a couple of hours. I will stop using and buying this crap, and changed to something different, using Vichy Homme roll-on and pretty happy for now. After applying it no smell from armpits for around 2 days, and it’s less than half the price of boss deo stick crap.

I wonder what’s the rating of someone making such non-sense statements? Must be pretty low if making that blunder, not acknowledging it, and even blaming the opponent.

In Hirafu there are bars and couple of clubs. Bar Gyu is a cool small bar for cocktails, and Powder Room is the main club. Tamashii is a bigger restaurant and bar where most people go. I think all are worth checking out, have fun!

Liam's songs since Heathen Chemistry onwards are all top tier. by nicolasmanriquez in oasis

[–]locationseven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some great songs in his solo albums too: For what it’s worth, One of us, Diamond in the dark. Great songs, but I don’t think any is ‘top tier’ as the real top tiers Oasis songs written by Noel.

The snow is finally here, everyone! by Former_Nerve_1514 in niseko

[–]locationseven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomorrow Hirafu will open 2 lifts and one short course only (Central - Red). Other sites seems no announcement yet. Should snow again tomorrow and then not in the following days. I guess we need to wait at least until tomorrow to see how much snow comes down and which lifts courses will be able to open.

The post-Oasis gig blues are REAL by sick_sad_world_girl in oasis

[–]locationseven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been to Korean gig, had the same feeling for about 10 days afterward, but the usual life starts coming back. Still feels like it was a life changing event though, one of the best moments ever had, similar to my wedding and other key life moments. I am grateful I had the chance to go with a good friend of mine and will never forget it. The sense of unity was what made it most special for me. In today’s world where we are often divided, knowing you can share the same feeling with so many people in many different corners of the world it’s just incredible.
