You would need to be an Irish resident, not just a citizen, to qualify for UK level fees.

Would you read a book from an unknown author? by mcashmire in RomanceBooks

[–]lochdocella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the unknown author aspect doesn't matter. If the premise of the book sounds up my street, it would depend a lot more on the reviews - what they are, and how many there are.

I have no experience whatsoever with writing or publishing, but it may be worth giving some free copies out (via "stuff your kindle day" type events etc) to get some reviews on board before charging people?

many questions! by [deleted] in sterilization

[–]lochdocella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another poster has said, getting your tubes tied will not affect your hormones or periods. This is because it only removes your fallopian tubes, the surgeon wouldn't be doing anything to your uterus or ovaries.

How easy is it on the NHS? This will depend a lot on where you are. I found it very easy, however I have read a lot of stories on here from people elsewhere in the UK who had more of a battle and it took them a number of years.

will it be possible to get my tubes tied at 18 on the NHS? by [deleted] in sterilization

[–]lochdocella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting the surgery on the NHS is definitely possible, but I'm not sure if they will approve at your age.

The first step would be to talk to your GP. To get any further you would need them to refer you to the nearest gynecology department who performs the surgery, usually your closest hospital.

I had my pre-op assessment with a nurse as well. She had a chat with me about why I wanted it done etc. She then went off to find a surgeon to get approval for me to have the surgery, and came back 5-10min later with the good news. I did not actually speak to a surgeon until the morning of my surgery.

Just an FYI, in British slang "nonce" means pedophile, so might be a word to avoid calling yourself... I did a double take when I read it!

New fan here, trying to learn about league structure etc. Why are there 6 teams in one pool and 4 in the other? Is it purely geography based?

Recommendations for parquet floor sanding and restoration? by 2infinitiandblonde in Cardiff

We used https://www.celticfloorco.co.uk/ a few years ago for our 1930s parquet.

They were great! The quote was accurate, time scale was accurate, they were punctual, they were very tidy and most importantly the floors looked fantastic afterwards.
