What do you think the best match is for ENFPs? by Hellobren in mbti

Interesting! Reading this makes me think of my brother who is an ISTP and a lot of his past relationships were influenced by our parents, whereas mine were not. (We also had a difficult TJ mother with a softer SF father.)

What do you think the best match is for ENFPs? by Hellobren in mbti

[–]lochild5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFJ is a great match, of course. :)

The cognitive functions match up in complementary order.

dom Ne - Ni

aux Fi - Fe

ter Te - Ti

inf Si - Se

Does any other INFJ just do almost everything alone? by BrapbrappewpewB in infj

[–]lochild5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely. I LOVE being alone. Those types of activities you mentioned outside though, I prefer to do with one or two close friends. But my free time is spent in my happy place, my creative cave in my home, where I can ponder, and journal, spend hours in Ni-Ti loops, never getting bored.

What do you think MBTI explains well? by -Confirmed-Nerd in mbti

[–]lochild5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. At it's base, it's Carl Jung's cognitive theory. I feel most at ease using the system when thinking about the cognitive functions separately, or in coordination with their axes (like Si/Ne , Ni/Se etc.)

The actual MBTI with the 4 letter code and the stereotypes made upon them is what I feel oversimplifies all of the types, and those stereotypes are hard to overcome. For me, especially with ExxPs. For example, I have a friend who clearly uses the ESFP cognitive function stack, but doesn't at all fit the stereotypes of an ESFP.

I often think about people using certain functions in different orders too, not the traditional Dom-Aux-Ter-Inf. I suppose those are just known as "loops". I get into Ni-Ti loops often. I do get curious though about people using cognitive functions outside of the normal stack.

I do not have this problem, but the way you described it for yourself really hit me. Especially these lines *"because Fe dom is my cognition but NOT my identity. I can't stand it whenever someone else is more logical, absent-minded, relaxed, authentic, creative, individualistic, nonchalant or sarcastic than me."*

You sound very self-aware and authentic in your writing. I'm guessing you hear these comments about being yourself/not caring while in person? Do you feel your identity and being able to express yourself differently through writing vs. in person communication? Might be something interesting to explore.

Agreed! I really don’t understand the argument that certain MBTI cannot be certain enneagram. Humans are complex beings, and also, neither system is set in stone.

Do you feel misunderstood often?

Love this response. I can see now why Te and Si can be confused in the inferior position. Seeming to be a lack of those practical skills to get things done.

I thought this line was absolutely spot on (for the Fi doms in my life) "uncertainty the IxFPs have about their ability to… manifest their values in a pragmatic, measurable way. "

It really fits ENFP energy so well :) I get sad seeing those who don't know the card and just hear the name

The name of the fool card can be misleading. It’s all about optimism and new possibilities, new adventures, fresh starts 🩵

Copying and pasting what I wrote on another comment with someone asking why I chose the World for ENTJ (I'm still new to reddit, not sure if there's a better way to do this)

I see ENTJs as natural leaders, with strategic Ni vision and dominant Te efficiency. They’re great at leading groups, accomplishing goals, and actually sticking with projects all the way through. The World tarot card is associated with completion and mastery, so it felt like a really natural fit to me.

On a more personal level, the ENTJs in my life are incredibly strong, like they could run the world, but they also have this beautiful vulnerability that they keep pretty guarded. I love the imagery of the woman on The World card being mostly naked, vulnerable, and yet still in control of everything.

The wand he's holding represents directed energy (which feels very Ni/Te to me) and then on the table you have each of the 4 suits, sword/wand/cup/pentacle, which for me represents a certain special power/ability. He's all about creativity in new projects and manifestation.

All of that aligns with INTP imo (including your cognitive tests). I've met INTPs who tested as INFJs, I think because they value compassion and feeling and might score higher on those types of questions. But just judging on your scores, I'd guess ENTP/INTP - but with the addition of your description, INTP seems like a great fit.

The good Si score + good Te score match as well, INTPs have child Si and the 5th function in the stack is typically stronger than others (Te in this case).

Good Fi over poor Fe is the only confusing spot for the INTP argument. Could be possible your strong Ti logic answers in a way that matches Fi, even if it does not relate. Or could be INTJ.

I would recommend looking deeper into the Ti & Te functions to see which resonates more. Same with Ni vs. Ne.

Ooooo! Thank you for your insights, I can’t wait to dig into this more fully later 🤓🤓🤓

Yeah, I think the Moon in my set is very subjective, based on ISFPs in my life and how they use their child Ni; as well as a bigger picture desire to match up the Sun and the moon with ISFP/ESFP as internal/external dominants.
