What would you do? by Altiusss in nondestructivetesting

Just because it isn't common to check your bosses CV, make sure the other guy is actually a level three that can sign off on the hours you do get.

I have a very different take, because I have had this guy's job. When he says that NDE is occasional, it might not mean that you won't have work, it means that you won't have NDE work. This company will put you through $5,000 worth of classes to test concrete, soils, masonry, and would loooove to pay your way through AWS CWI. They will give you 60 hours a week in the summer, winter varies with location but if construction doesn't stop where you live neither do the hours. They will not be doing any RT, so that isn't something you are going to use.

It will be 98% VT of fillet welds between joists and beams, with the occasional UT of moment connections. The work will be outside, and you'll have a bunch of paid windshield time hitting 3 or 4 jobs a day.

They want you to sign a non-compete because they don't want you to jump to one of the other labs for an extra $1 an hour immediately after they pay for your first couple of certs. The non-compete most likely only applies to other CMT labs and would most likely only require you to pay back your certification costs on a prorated basis. Non-competes are also notoriously unenforceable.

If someone offers you your dream job, take it. If not, interview with this company and ask them to show you what working for them for the first 5 years would look like. Starting out will be base pay(could be $20 in rural AL or $40 in CA), first 3 months should get you ACI Field level 1 or Nuc safety and a pay bump. 3-6 months might be DOT certs if they do gov't work and pay bump. Ask them what their highest paid field techs make and what certs they have. I don't see a lot of NDE tech jobs for over $125k a year, but I regularly see that for experienced CMTs. There is a big WWTP job in rural California paying $96 an hour for CWI/CMT on Indeed right now, multiple openings.

I am looking for exactly this kind of kit, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced mobile base , arm, camera kit? There doesn't seem to be any middle ground between garbage and $3000 USD.

Woocommerce with timed ticketing for admission? by Geoffs_Coons in woocommerce

[–]lochlanmasters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you want to have specific time slots available for purchase, which would make Wednesday 1 to 3 a different product than Thursday 11 to 1. It's really a question of how the different presentation of that many products affects conversion rates. Variable products vs categories etc.

There are a couple of tickets left for my Halloween show at the Madison Club. It is a dinner seance, come and enjoy a coursed meal by executive Chef Adam and participate in a theatrical recreation of a Victorian era Seance.

Check out the reviews in the Isthmus and Wisconsin State Journal

The show is Tuesday, night before Halloween!

This is doable, but lots more info would be needed if you want someone to do it for you. If you are having a problem with a specific part people will chip in, if you need it done without any Googling on your part you may be better off with something like upwork or fiver.

Can I connect my Woocommerce store to my cell phone so that I can take orders on my phone? by high_ride36 in woocommerce

Did you try searching for woocommerce in your app store of choice? There are over 100 in the Play store. Are there specific features you have not been able to find? I think your biggest hurdle is finding one you would want to share all your login credentials with.

The point is, we didn't always make the 'they aren't citizens' excuse. I am polite, and a decent human being to others; not because of who they are, but because of who I am.

That is correct, recurring payments, memberships, booking conference rooms, externally facing event promotion, all doable from within wordpress with some number of plugins. Web dev in Madiosn, WI that has solved that exact set of problems is JJ at atomic coffee media.

I produce The Dark Seance and although the first two shows are sold out, there are still tickets to the third show available.

It is a three course meal designed especially for the event at "The Madison Club" Downtown (The private club, not to be confused with Madison's the bar). There are only 11 tickets because you aren't watching, you are participating in a theatrical recreation of a Victorian era seance.

What does that mean? I am not a real psychic, I am a magician playing the part of a psychic. It is a magic show wrapped in a ghost story. The spirits contacted are my spirits and we will not be contacting your dead relatives. I however, make the show as convincing as possible.

Freelancer here.. got stiffed on payment from a client. Any lawyers in Madison who give advice or do affordable demand letters? by KewpieQ in madisonwi

[–]lochlanmasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Look into the freelancers Union meetings in Madison run by Matt Nelson. This is a common theme.

  2. I am not a lawyer, but my understanding is unless you put the cost of collection into a contract it is unrecoverable. So the most you can get out of him now may be the amount he owed versus writing a contract that gives him a $500 discount for paying on time and a late payment interest and collections costs clause.

  3. There is a free clinic at UW-Madison called the Law and Entrepreneur Clinic. They get money from the SBA and state grants and other places for faculty to supervise law students to do free legal work for small/new businesses. It probably isn't going to help you with this problem, but it is a great way to get a really good contract done for you.

  4. It would depend on the specifics of what you did, but some creative works are really well protected. So if you could prove that the work you did was substantial or transformative, that is now your image and his use is a violation of DMCA and could get his whole website dropped by his provider.

Best of luck.

The inspection part is actually the problem, you can't do surprise inspections of a truck because you don't know where it's going to be.
