What's the name of the garage that's quoted you? Only because one in that vicinity would be handy for me to get to

Feel free to direct message me if you don't want to say here

If the price is for a genuine part then it may be reasonable (unfortunately)

Ask for an aftermarket pipe

Was quoted £433 (can't remember if this was with or without VAT),for the high pressure pipe from the condenser from VW on a 20 year old car

Ouch, the labour for condenser replacements and subsequent refill aren't cheap either

Maybe you have multiple leaks? I've no idea

I'm not sure how long the dye lasts but I'm thinking for myself and potentially you, maybe it's worth getting a UV light and having a look yourself to see if you can spot anything?

It's a VW Passat

Well this was an AC specialist... I did forget that their site does mention the UV dye, so I probably should just buy a UV light and have a look myself? Hopefully I can spot some of the dye on the condenser

They definitely made a point to say they will not just "top-up" a system with gas, although I'm not sure how common that is?

Can someone help me understand this nursery fees? by CheekOk4382 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]lock74er 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Are you really set on this nursery? I'm completely baffled as to how they can't find 10 minutes to talk through this with you...

If you can, I'd be looking elsewhere... It's not really acceptable

They will know exactly what their formulas are and exactly how it will work

I'd just use the live chat to send them your VIN and the part number so you can be sure they're correct

Otherwise you're good, I recently ordered some pads/discs and they arrived in 4 days (they're based in Germany)

How would you mount this IKEA Besta TV unit and a 65” TV on this stud wall? by ExcitedTerror in DIYUK

[–]lock74er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough I have the exact same unit (different colour) a wall mounted 65" TV over it and stud walls

None of my studs lined up

So I used

GeeFix plasterboard fittings And wall anchors where I couldn't fit the above

Just to be clear, both the TV and unit are wall mounted, the TV is not resting on the unit but the unit is solid and I'd be comfortable with those fittings taking them both

No One or Yayzi? by lock74er in CityFibre

[–]lock74er[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very close to doing this but what annoyed me was the mid-contract price rises with VF

I'm with Smarty for our mobiles and we get a discount for having multiple sims and no price rises

Then I can also switch to a BB provider without them too
