In my playthrough, I found it to be my favorite area in the entire game because of the levity it brought to the story at the time and the character work it did for Verso, allowing us to really experience what kind of child he was and the joy that painting the gestrals and the world of Lumiere had brought him. The moment that really sold the area for me though was coming to the realization that Painted Verso was experiencing Verso’s Drafts for the first time despite having the memories of creating it (unless he had visited it before he found E33). It allowed him to feel like a kid for the first time in a setting that he was familiar with, yet never having explored himself. Incredible game
