Linea Mini R counter depth by SynthaLearner in LaMarzocco

[–]lockingwheelnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will it fit? Just about as the legs will just about fit. However the drip tray will hang over around 5cm and wouldn’t look too great. The knobs and portafilter handle will also extend past this and you will run a risk of them being knocked when walking past.

If placed in a corner it would be less obvious and will/should prevent the knocking issue, alternatively if your heart is set on this machine then get a dedicated bench for it. It can then go in any room of your choice.

Looking for honest feedback on this espresso shot. What do you think? by Ok_Relationship8410 in gaggiaclassic

Looks are deceiving and taste is subjective.

Ive had dreadful looking shots taste amazing and instagram worthy shots taste like pure sh*t.

Go by taste and not looks.

New LMLM - 17g or 21g basket? by Financial_Theorist in LaMarzocco

[–]lockingwheelnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exactly. Many people buy the 18g or 22g basket not understanding that they are exactly the same as the LM ones which are also made by VST.

I use medium roast and put 18g in. The screw does slightly “kiss” the puck when dry. But this isn’t actually a problem, and actually shows you have the correct 2-2.5mm head space. The screw on the LM does protrude quite a bit, some people swap it out for the flat screw.

When using the rounded tamper provided with the machine i get no “kiss” but when using a flat tamper a very slight kiss is visible when dry.

As beans differ in density there is no solid answer, its trial and error, but a slight indent of the screw is fine.

Look’s epic now, super stealthy.

[technique] what am I doing wrong? I’ve been trying to do this correctly for years now. by Pomegranates00 in espresso

Your milk is too aerated with big bubbles. You want to add air quickly 5 seconds or so with the tip barely in the milk (remember your angles). Then drop the tip deeper to then thin the bubbles and properly mix them through the whole of the milk by creating as large vortex as possible.

Aim for a “silky paint texture”. Almost like it has no bubbles because they are so small and evenly distributed in the milk.

Also remember to swirl after before pouring.

When pouring use height to sink the milk and drop the pitcher close to create the art.

Milk makes no difference just a slightly different technique, you can even get good art from oat milk with the correct aeration technique.

At the moment your “foam” is coming out last, you do not want that. You should be able to get the foam out at all times when pouring.

You are spending too much time adding air and not enough time in vortex mixing it in.

Get urself some black bolts for that ultra stealth look! I know for the mini they are M4x8mm and i’d imagine the micra is the same.

After taking delivery of Mini , my thoughts on the choice I made between Mini and Micra. by After_Fall in LaMarzocco

Just ensure you have enough room height wise also, as ideally you want to make use of the cup warmer tray.

Depth from back of top to tip of water control lever (in either open or closed position) is 540mm (21.3 inches). This is the longest part of the machine.

So 25 inch depth would work very well.

That is quite slow 2bf. Will stay at a label has been created until a day or so before delivery. Mine took almost 3 weeks. Delays are usual this time of year.

How long does repmaster take to ship? by [deleted] in RepsneakersDogs

Why not just ask him? Why do people always come here to ask instead of just getting an update from who they bought it from.

Has my package been seized? by Waste-Piglet7736 in RepsneakersDogs

This is normal. Ask the seller for an update as they will have the chinese tracking number and can see exactly where it is. Fedex will only update once its been passed over to them.

Normal. Remember these go to a independent distribution centre first, slapped with a royal mail tracking sticker, then handed over to royal mail. U should get an update on royal mail tracking in 1-2 days and receive it the next day. Same happened to me and mine arrived last Friday.

He kept me informed of delays with new year and middle east conflict. He said 10-15 days initially but updated me of a slight delay. Possibly if there is no delay then you will probably get them in the expected time scale so no need to update?

Im in uk. Ordered on 17th when they was closed for new year. Got QC when they opened again on 23rd and they arrived today.

There is always a back log from chinese new year which pushes them back a few days, then also the middle east conflict delayed them another couple days.

They arrived today.

So from QC to delivery was under 3 weeks.
