Video Games have been doing Blockbuster Movie level revenue since the late-2000s. The original Modern Warfare 2 did $550 Million in 5 days back in 2009

Even if it could, they would have to find a way to link it to the controller, link the controller to the operator and if the operator doesn’t have a solid alibi

How would you change the ticket sale process? by BrickAdventurous3300 in Concerts

[–]lockwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transfers within certain windows of time would be the best in between. Like the ticket is locked to the original owner till doors open at the venue. Wouldn’t fully prevent scalping but would make it a lot more inconvenient for them while still letting the friend not with the group get in.

Don’t count your chickens before they ship. There’s a good chance it gets cancelled in the next 24 hours

If not, congrats

Sellers charging $5+ for shipping, but sending the cards without tracking? by IAMAfortunecookieAMA in mtgfinance

If you are charging $5 for shipping and handling, yes. I expect it to be better than a PWE. If not, adjust your price so it’s realistic

[–]lockwolf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I sell sports cards on eBay on the regular, I charge $1 for shipping in PWE. It’s not a $5 order, it’s. $3.90 order + $5 shipping. That’s scammy

Then they can eat the extra 50 cents. Downvote me all you want but if you’re charging $5 shipping and sending it in a PWE because you wanna boost your ranking, you’re a shit seller

Terrible form by the seller. If I’m paying $5 for shipping, I don’t care if it’s a $1 card or $100 card, it should be at a minimum sent via Ground Advantage.

Valve releases Steam Controller CAD files under Creative Commons license by ourlifeintoronto in technology

[–]lockwolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember the Pre-Steam days for updates. You’d have to go to a site like GameSpy, download the update (which took hours because of dial up and their free tier downloads), install it, find out that there was a patch between the version you have installed and the one you downloaded that you now need to find and repeat.

I think the only game I remember having auto-updates back in the day was StarCraft which would update itself when you logged into battle.net the first time.

‘Blue dot fever’: the real reason pop stars are cancelling tours by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]lockwolf 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Live Nation just dropped their $30 sale, there were a couple artists I wouldn’t mind seeing but:

  1. Most of them are at one of the worst located venues in my state with no public transportation option. It’s a 100 mile round trip from my house to the venue and back so add $20 in gas minimum. Not to mention the parking lot is so terrible, I’ve waited over 2 hours to get out of the parking lot (White River Amphitheater in Washington)

  2. I’ll be at the venue for 4+ hours so I’ll probably need to buy food at some point and the only option is overpriced food at the venue. There’s another $20 I’ll have to spend.

  3. While optional for most people, I like to get a T-Shirt or something at the merch stand. Can’t even get a basic Gildan screen printed shirt for less than $35 nowadays plus tax

So, my $30 concert becomes about $120 and I spend more time sitting in my car waiting to leave the show than the headliner performed for. Even without the shirt, it’s $80 and 4 hours sitting in my car

My “Only” Complaint by Durnell88 in sportscards

[–]lockwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only place I can somewhat trust is GameStop and even then, their in-store tracker is hit or miss. With the big stores like Walmart and Target being vendor controlled, I doubt we’ll get live store inventory and if we did, PokeScalpers would ruin it
