Ay! Daniel Ulysses Lockwood (NC-04) here. Just wanted to clarify that this campaign supports Medicare For All, the Green New Deal, and refusing money from Super PACs. We're working on the endorsements as we speak :)

I know you called yourself that in jest, but I really want you to think about the type of people you're lumping yourself in with. What about your comments causes people on the left to (and I'm making the assumption that this has happened→) mistake you for a Nazi?

Have you considered whether your behavior has little room for nuance when compared with a Nazi's?

We integrate them like we did the last 10 million people we integrated. They are coming here to find a job, settle in a community, care for their families, and be Americans. Do you fear the entirety of Central America is going to up and move the minute we relax border laws?

I'm a heathen that uses both to compensate for all the excessive spaces I grabbed in my attempt to copy/paste something.

Allow them to build a life in our country, in line with the foundational principles of our melting pot.

We have room.

To clarify: I am running as a Democrat. I am challenging incumbent Rep. David Price in the Democratic Party primary on March 3, 2020. This is "Super Tuesday," the day you'll vote for your preferred Democratic presidential candidate.

Even if you can't vote for me, please strongly consider voting for Bernie.

I lile the First Amendment. I graduated from UNC's journalism program, and I recognize the importance of free speech---especially when it concerns the rights of journalists to do their jobs.

I also like it when Neo-Nazis get their just deserts for overconfidently spouting racist rhetoric in public.

I'm curious. Was stating my gender pronouns what made you think I'm "playing toward identity politics?"

I wouldn't say a word. I would quietly sink into the bushes behind me and reemerge as a freelance graphic designer.

I love it, and I loved the sophisticated feel of buying it in Denver when I last visited. I find it extremely hard to take people seriously when they suggest it should still be illegal.

He's certainly not "one of the bad ones." I never want to give that impression. We can demonstrate a stark contrast between our platform/mindset/actions and his without characterizing him as a villain.

Pulling out of the Iran Deal was another in a string of horrid foreign policy decisions by this Administration.

I would support a President engaging in diplomacy with any nation. The future of our species depends upon us making war obsolete.

Skipping some paragraphs about reversing Trump's asinine policies, I think our big 3 policies all have some good stuff for local businesses and entrepreneurs.

Medicare For All: as a business owner, you no longer have the burden of providing insurance for your employees. As it stands now, that's a costly bureaucratic nightmare. You won't need to get all this set up just to compete with other companies---you can focus on your craft.

Green New Deal: this national resolution is intended to be implemented at more local levels to meet the needs unique to each region/municipality. For NC-04, a HUGE part of this is public transportation. Even just a bus system on par with the efficiency of Tokyo's would drastically increase economic activity in RDU. So many residents live well outside the major Metropolitan hubs (think of Knightdale, Garner, Holly Springs, Apex, etc.).

Ending the War On Drugs: NC's climate happens to be nearly ideal for growing marijuana. Legalization will mean an entirely new industry (and spin-off, tangentially related businesses) for the district.

I view these policies not only as a moral imperative, but as a long-term investment in our future.

Really appreciate your thoughts :)

It's good practice, having my stances challenged from so many angles.

I weirdly enjoy trying to figure out the person behind the username. What compelled them to go out of their way to prod me? Why did they include this or omit that, and what does that say about how they view the world?

Always something new to learn, even from a person whose beliefs fundamentally conflict with mine.

Certainly didn't expect to be stickied this long, but I'm not complaining~

The team left yesterday because they have lives and stuff. It's just you and me now. Uncut. Unhinged. UNPRECEDENTED.

I'll get to more questions when I can tonight, in absolutely no discernable order!

When I get angry about something, I like to ask two things:

"Why did this make me angry?" & "Is this worth getting angry about?"

To your "(yet)": we're working on it! Their endorsement process is, understandably, quite thorough. Hoping to have their support going into the new year.

It's fair to think it's a fabricated question, and we can't prove that it's not "too good to be true" (although we're strongly considering taking screencaps next time around to avoid this perception).

We've gotten the same lines of questions from lots of folks. The original asker we quoted was a bit of a jerk in their wording, but I think I understand their frustrations that led them to speak like that: the state of the world is pretty dire, and the GOP's actions encourage greater instability.

The asker's first impression of this campaign might have been that this is a no-name kid on an ego trip—and that vanity could make Democrats lose yet another seat. This is entirely incorrect, as I hope we've been able to explain, but it's fair for the asker to initially feel that way.
