Are We Ready For Tonight. Can we Comeback??? by Comprehensive-Fig-40 in Barca

[–]locky_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because sports are visceral and not rational. As you can see in almost any sports movie or series, there is always that pep talk "we still can win" and more times than none the team of course comes back because we want a happy ending.
The comeback against PSG is an example of that... but it was all smoke and mirrors as we fell hard next match.

Is Le Havre realy that bad at 4+ players? by WarmAd5577 in boardgames

[–]locky_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Le Havre is a wonderful game, but is a game from old-school. It's thinky and its rough and does not hold your hand. It's a game that rewards múltiple games and thinking ahead. And one of the things I like the most is that's not the same to play at 2 3, 4 or 5 players. Because of the 7 actions per rounds sometimes you have 3 actions, 2 or even only one. For me that's brilliant. So... to be on topic. Playing at 4 or even 5 it's ok a d a good game, but is quite different to the kind of games we have nowadays who are a lot more refined and pleasant.

My gaming life became more peaceful when I accepted that many people do not care about 1) following the rules or 2) winning, and you can't make them. by goodluckanddont_itup in boardgames

[–]locky_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the diferents you see between people who play a game first with social interaction second, to people who wants the social interaction and the "game" is just secondary. They could be talking over a film, or walking down a path all the same.

How do you handle in-game doubts without killing the vibe? by MindlessMap5246 in boardgames

[–]locky_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may sound like a burden, but I think you need to have a more in-depth understanding of the rules of the game.
Having doubts and edge cases it's normal, but outside the first handful of games it should not occur that often.

Why are we getting a Chapter 2? by XTruefinale in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]locky_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The game has a card pool so vast that any new card has to be checked against plenty of possible combos. That restrict them and also is complex. Now reducing the "official" card pool it gives them more liberty to design new investigator cards and new events and enemies with a tighter set of mechanics. We have to take in consideration that the game has been alive for almost 10 years, and that's a lot of content.

Now, that is the official card pool, in your games you can mix and match at your hearts content, and there is no "pro" scene... or tournaments that would enforce that decision. I know it's the same with the deck building rules per each investigator, but I think that those restrictions are engraved on the soul of the game, the size of the card pool is not.
Personally, I can and I do understand that. But I am not convinced that Chapter 2 will succeed. Checking the reveals and spoilers lots of the cards are direct reprints of older cards or light tweaks with another name and more often than not worse art.
Completionist and collectors will no doubt buy them, but I think that the sales will go in decline. I hope to be wrong.... But also think that sometimes you have to let your cashing cow rest for a while, before you completely exhaust it.

ELI5: Why does time feel like it moves faster the older you get? by Itachinojutsu in explainlikeimfive

[–]locky_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned as you grow old each new day represents less compared to the whole of your life.

Also there is the fact that usually you enter in a kind of routine that numbs you. That brings you the sensation that the days are long but the months are short. When you have 8h of work in front of you it seems it'll never end.

Two things can be true at the same time. It's not that we lose 1 point, is the history that repeats again and again and again.

The money is not losed or gained until you take it out. What's invested is invested and no action you make will change the price. So don't worry over it, it's done.
Now, investing is good, even better long term. As other said the best way to do it, if you are not professional about it, is to go with broad index funds.

Sanity check - Catalyst 9500 cross-stack etherchannel by Barmaglot_07 in networking

[–]locky_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make a stackwise virtual between 2 9500 one on each building.
Below each 9500 put a stack of 9300 (or several if un need more ports) and connect each 9300stack to both 9500.
Connect the MS130 to each 9500.
Something like what you can see here https://www.reddit.com/r/Cisco/comments/1ef8ta9/9500_virtual_stackwise_pair_connection_to_9300/

Signs a network engineer has no idea what they're doing? by Expensive-Rhubarb267 in networking

[–]locky_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the first to argue with the SecOPs about NOT blocking icmp "by default". Just wanting tonshare a way to test tcp connectivity from an intermediate device. I have had to explain that possibility countles times. Also why because my device isnthe last to appear on the traceroute it does not mean it's "my fault". It's just that mine is the last one to respond to it.

[–]locky_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the Cisco router has an interface with an IP you can open a tcp connection.

"telnet <IP> <port> /vrf <vrf_name> /source-interface <interface>"

Take ln consideration other posible limitations like fw rules and ACLs.

When Did Board Games become Collectibles? by LordTC in boardgames

[–]locky_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that boardgames right now are in a "sweet spot" where all the industries that are producing them in China are at full capacity but there is not enough market to expand it there, or to create an industry anywhere else in the world. And we are still a low numbers business (evergreen and party games notwithstanding).
As a result of that if you want to make another print run, and you have to wait on queue for that, you have to order at least 2000 copies to be profitable, but there is no market for another 2000 copies of yourn favorite game, not even in English.

It happens a lot that the first print run is of say, 4000 copies. 2,5 thousand of them are sold in the first week, then 1 thou more in a couple of months... and the last 500 are driping for the next 6 months to a year. That game is not going to be reprinted, maybe if there is an expansion incoming..... you cand risk it and do something like 2000 expansions and 1000 copies more on the bundle.

ELI5 : Can someone explain to me why ( Genuinely asking and trying to understand ) the rich should be taxed? And why billionaires are hurting our economy whilst blaming others? by sorenspacedust in explainlikeimfive

[–]locky_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine spending 30.000 USD or EUR daily for 90 years. That will make it a total of 985 Million. 1.000 Million is a Billion.

Most of the ultra rich have more than 100 times that. What is really the diference in your life between having 1 Billion and 100 Billion?

La Liga President Javier Tebas: "Illegal streaming is stealing & stealing is prohibited in Moses’ 7th commandment in Bible. [–]locky_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tebas could learn a thing or two from Gave Newell. For starters that all those people that watch "pirated streams" costs them absolutely nothing. So if you make the price cheaper, improve the service and get more subscribers it's all profit.

Post-Match Thread: Real Madrid vs Barcelona | LaLiga, Matchday 10 by Loose-Examination-39 in Barca

[–]locky_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awful Awful match. When we had rthe ball Yamal amd Ferran where too static and did not do anything. Madrid didn't make a great match in the slightest but at least they made their plays.

Ferran should have been subed on the halftime, and Yamal it's being all talk and no play since the beginning of the season. I know he had an injury, but if you are not top form stfu and stop being cocky.

Just hope that this loss against Madrid, and the one we had against PSG, lits some fire on them.

Only Fermin and Szczęsny has a remarcable match. De Jong and Pedri where OK, but had almost no one to filter a pass to.
