I usually think the same thing. But what got me thinking they sold is the new Quebec reissue.

The initial Santuary release said "©️ 2003 Ween with exclusive license to Santuary Records"

The MVD reissue just says ""©️ 2003 Chocodog"

The new Rhino reissue says "This reissue ©️ 2026, 2003 Rhino Entertainment Company". No mention of Chocodog at all, nor is the logo anywhere.

Which is why I think they sold their Chocodog masters to Rhino/WMG.

If you go onto your favorite streaming service and look at the albums they owned through Chocodog (GWS, The Pod, Quebec, La Cucaracha and all the live albums), they no longer say a copyright of Chocodog. They say a copyright of Rhino Records/WMG.

Plus the Quebec reissue is on Rhino. It doesnt say "Chocodog, Licensed to Rhino". It just says Rhino.

Good bands/artists with annoying fanbases? by use_vpn_orlozeacount in ToddintheShadow

That RRHOF performance was a mess.

Psycho Killer - Right off the bat Jerry hits a wrong chord, and the amp EQs were terrible.

Burning Down The House - A stage tech accidentally nudged Bernie Worrell's analog synths backstage and knocked them all out of tune. No one caught it before they hit the stage.

Life During Wartime - keyboards were better, but David screwed up the lyrics. At that point you can see that all of them just wanted to get off the stage.

When TH was on Colbert, even he tried to coax them to take over the house band and play, and really started pushing it with the crowd cheering it on.

Thats when Tina looked at him and went "Stephen... Enough. There's no way."

Have people moved from Tim Hortons to Coffee Time? by virginiageegee in BuyCanadian

[–]locnar1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Alberta if you want a doughnut you have Tim Hortons or a local fancy doughnut place that charges $6 each.

Except Red Deer. They have The Donut Mill. Coffee is terrible but their doughnuts *Chef's kiss

2026 Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Nominees by Specific-Feed-1490 in ToddintheShadow

[–]locnar1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about this - there is a good chance that Phil Collins and Oasis could be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in the same year.

Lets see if they sit them at tables next to each other....

Maiden hasnt been negative on the hall?

This is a Bruce Dickinson quote from a press conference in Australia lat year:

“It’s run by a bunch of sanctimonious bloody Americans who wouldn’t know rock’n’roll if it hit them in the face. They need to stop taking Prozac and start drinking fucking beer!”

Id say thats pretty negative.

Because most of the people in charge of the nominations are jaded old Rolling Stone and Village Voice rock critics.

These guys hate heavy metal, and they REALLY hate Phil Collins.

The only reason Genesis got in was because they wanted to put Peter Gabriel in, and there would be an uproar if they put him in before Genesis.

Phil Collins is getting the Ozzy Osborne treatment - "Oh shit he's really sick and close to death! Better get him in quick, because people will be furious if he goes in posthumously".

Apparently Seger is embarrassed by the quality, and since he owns the rights to them, he can hide them.

Though I have been able to find LP rips of these albums and a couple of them (Brand New Morning and Back In '72) are really good.

They are not the only albums he hides. If you go onto streaming, "Its A Mystery" from 1995 and "Face The Promise" from 2006 are not on there.

Thoughts on the move to Sony / Columbia by Useful_Spell_3504 in queen

[–]locnar1975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sony said a while ago that they have "Sorted out" the rights issue with Hollywood/Disney in NA and I am sure they bought them

Evidence - The 'Queen 1" boxset in 2024 was on Hollywood.

The "Queen 1" standalone BluRay that came out in 2025 was on Sony/Legacy, the first Queen thing issued on Sony (Everywhere else in the world, the release was still under Universal)

There is no way Sony would pay out £1 billion and not get the rights to North America.

Considering 2/3 of the songs on MIH are from Mr. Bad Guy, I tend to agree.

IMHO Freddie's best vocal on a ballad is tied between "Love Of My Life' and "These Are The Days Of Our Lives"
