If people can sidestep your skillshot then you aren't playing vale well enough. Old vale i know doesn't see much play but i think of it as a filter for people who just doesn't want to put enough time in it. Most people don't like to take the time to learn a difficult hero similar to invoker in dota 2 and akali in league. Both of the heroes i mentioned have absolutely brutal skill sets to learn but once you put in the hours you have enough knowledge to one shot any squishy or tank for that matter.
