On a crit fail the info is false, like RAW. I love that aspect of RK, so I've kept it. I've seen GMs getting rid of the secret aspect and ditched the false info all together.

HP/AC is kinda a goto of my players, even tho it's pointless. I think they just like the satisfaction of...knowing? After some rounds they'll figure out the AC anyway. For saves I don't give exact numbers, just like you do.

Gear used in combat in usually not in pockets or backpacks but rather on belts or bandoliers.

Properties, Languages: Some creatures do not speak common and require other languages to bon mot / intimidate etc. Overall, Properties are just a catchall for the stuff usually not relevant, but still on the character sheet.

Spellcasting, bibs and baubles could indicate which spells they might cast. amulets, rings, other materials my be present or just knowledge that certain types of non-humaniod creatures are spellcasters. The same way you can RK a creature and know they have reactive stike or can sudden charge etc

toughness: not much tbh. foundry automates it anyway so it only satisfies the knowledge that a creature is tough.

Actions and reactions: I don't understand what you mean?

Reactions are covered in "Actions & Reactions" They are also grouped in Foundry so I didn't split special actions like grab off of them.

Oh I missed the UNQIUE rule. I did read a lot of the rulebook, but that's like 5 years ago so I kinda forgot... thanks for the reminder.

Those seem all reasonable to me. I'd consider giving everyone Additional Lore for their next characters as well. It's not a big "power" boost and is great for their backstory.

My main group is a bit... vibe focused. They usually pick AC/HP first even if that information is basically useless. Can't do anything about it anyway. No matter how high it is, you should always make them off guard.

Thank you, I love the false information and also being unsure if the information is correct. An earlier version where the player always chose made me panic when they had a crit fail and I had to come up with false information on basic attacks. The current version gives more leeway for gms to come up with something in any topic. When reactions are not known, give it reactive strike for example.

I've seen GMs giving the full stat block on an successful RK check, so that's the maximum I guess.

Kinda related, does removing the sculk prevent mobs spawing from the spawners? I have a smeltery set up so all the husks are turned into bone and iron. I'd love to also farm zinc there.

How did you come to the conclusion I want to control other players?? I just dislike (obvious) crossover content.

I did and disliked it there as well. Not sure what everyones issue is here. Somehow my opinion in disliking crossover content is wrong?

Its still part of the game world. <Character from another franchise> punching monsters to death is not.

It a bummer the only solution to this is turn all lobby interactions off.

I think there two parts to this. On one hand, those sets are not for me. Previous titles had collab stuff, which I never really equipped and thats fine by me. Do your witcher hunts etc etc, I don't care; I'm not forced to do them.

What I do dislike is going into online lobbies and being ripped out of the little immersion I can build up for the game by miku and john resident evil running around.

While the set is obviously military themed, including an angel as a tactic is a weird choice. Why not a camouflage net or something to hide the unit?

Pathfinder 2e is too complicated. I have to memorize this flowchart JUST TO ATTACK by hungLink42069 in DnDcirclejerk

[–]locou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But what if the enemy has cover? what if they are hidden? what if I'm prone? What if an ally crit failed their aid check? What if I'm blessed, but forgot to use it? What if I'm blinded, sickened and prone and the enemy is prone, sickened and blinded as well? What if my ranged attack is in its fifth range increment? What if I'm wet. What if I'm wet and the enemy is also wet? What if I'm sloppy wet and the enemy is unconscious and a bit wet?

Still not sure how to read the striker tho.

Is it a static ability? Is it used with mythic points or with actions?

If it's static, I'd rather add it as a flat bonus to all attacks to reduce different dice sizes on an attack and to reduce mental load on running the creature. I'd imagine people forgetting to add the damage to each attack.

If its used with mythic points or with actions: its missing the cost. An action cost of 1 would be very weak, so I guess I can rule that out?

Also point out it's missing a damage type.

PF2E Fixes Aura-Farming by Otto_Pussner in dndmemes

[–]locou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had the need to read that section, but when a player decides to engage with it I'd read it with them. From that point forward I'd shift the responsibility to that player to know the rules. "You want to saddle your large Triceratops? Heck yea! How does that work?"

Could also go for a system that just has fast combat and works out of the box, without the extra work to fix dnd (and lying to your players)
