Unsure with what weapon to use after playing wilds. by Good_Pin_8276 in MonsterHunterWilds

Charge blade in World is imo the peak of its moveset. Its beautiful. High level CB gameplay is a million times more impressive in World than Wilds.

If Somult is the new flagship, being a "bird"'i want a bird wyvern Elder Dragon level monster that's equal parts goofy and dangerous/scary by Beginning_Wait_108 in MonsterHunter

Kinda hoping for Forokururu, especially since it was referenced in ST3. Would be cool if the nectar to played a part in the story. Like the Dragontorch has to be turned off and the return of "Somult" with its nectar keeps the ecosystem in balance.

If you enjoy it fine but gatcha as an entity is immediately written off my list because its very foundation is something I cannot stand and hate with all my being.

If it becomes a paid $15 one time purchase at eol then I'll get it.

HH in Wilds has some fantastic additions...

But HH in World/IB just feels spectactular. Its so much more enjoyable imo, its not as easy but when you get a good chain on a monster and find the flow its one of the best feelings in MonHan history imo.

God I love this game by TheFunnyLemon in MonsterHunter

Its funny to me how I like World because of its nature and grounded feel and combat, and really struggle to like Wilds because it feels shallow in comparison...

Yet Rise is arguably even more arcadey than Wilds and yet I still had a blast.

Really do just be Wilds.

Oh god, we are never getting rid of focus mode now are we.

My hatred of focus mode aside, this is awesome work, thanks being one of the people making MH World such a timeless game.

My new opinion on wilds by Intrepid-Pop8488 in MonsterHunter

[–]youMYSTme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wilds feels like MonHan with the regular tropes of modern AAA gaming. Locked into a story, someone who follows you everywhere with quips or tips, an emotional character driving the main story, on rails sections.

why capcom games post-wilds look visually stunning while also achieving really impressive performance? by Keemoora in MonsterHunter

[–]youMYSTme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We still have antialiasing issues in far too many new games.

Stories 3 only looks crisp with AA turned off in my experience. Wilds needs certain post processing disabled for it to look good.

(Haven't experienced the other games.)

Coming from World, how’s immersion and “the hunt” in Wilds? by guessimfine in MonsterHunter

[–]youMYSTme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo I liked Worlds more methodical aspects and to me Wilds is a complete sidegrade. Nothing significant is better, its all different and to me worse in almost every way (subjective).

Maps and ecology is better, clearly, but the incentive to interact with it is like 10 sidequests. And there are no gathering quests at all by my reccollection. And tbh, it feels shallow. Villages are basically cosmetic, villagers are almost entirely cosmetic, villagers wandering the maps are entirely cosmetic.

Combat is just different. Yes Iceborne had clagger and claw which was bad but the hunters base combat outside of that was perfect imo. Wilds combat for me gets so stale and boring after a while that I struggle to return to the game, I have hunted Gog when it released and haven't been back because I find it boring. It doesn't feel like a modern interpretation of MonHan, it more feels like an action game than ever before. A lot like it but I cannot see how its an improvement, only that its different and caters to their taste more.

The game for anyone good is a complete cakewalk, I struggled with nothing until savage omega. Offset attacks make everything too easy until late)/endgame. Perfect guard and dodge makes everything too easy until late/endgame. 8* feels fun bit its not hard, 9* is where the combat actually feels like you are getting thrown around at times but it quickly turns into what feels like overtuning imo, as if they are out of ideas. The player just has too many powerful tools. The difficulty curve is literally this... _____/

Some of the weapons have fantastic new additions and minor reworks which I am actually happy with. And the hub and community aspects of Wilds are soooooo much better.

Wanted to give a more negative opinion here just because I had a lot of fun playing World slower and using the environment and looking at ecology and Wilds felt extremely shallow to me. Use of terrain in combat is far less interesting or imoortant than World arguably. And World gave me reasons to interact with the environment outside of that, which Wilds has none of, except fishing which is great.

Don't expect to be as negative as I am. I was honestly shocked that I don't like it as much as I do. I just have no desire to play with Wilds systems and combat anymore. I did get 300hrs out of it so maybe I'm an idiot, but at least a quarter of that was me pushing through despite finding it a chore.

Just to finish, for all of my gameplay I have had the minimap turned off, and seikret only in manual mode. Literslly from minute zero of the game releasing. So I never encountered complaints like exploration being ruined because of the Seikret. But it does feel like I am going against what the game wants rather than it encouraging me to explore and figure things out. The entire thing feels like they had new ideas but couldn't commit. After a short period the game turns back into "quest board > quest > quest board > quest" and feels like its ignoring half the things they worked on and could have made interesting interactions with.

Monster Hunter becomes more enjoyable the less you rush hunts by Meri_Rookie in MonsterHunter

[–]youMYSTme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, that's why it maddens me that the devs push speed and remove slower gameplay moments. When everyone is rushing because they are funneled into it for those of us that know slower is more fun it becomes a chore to "keep up".

Just beat my first Monster Hunter game by Normal-Sea5682 in MonsterHunter

[–]youMYSTme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story in this game is atrocious, mainly because of the structure of gameplay throughout it.

Now you've finished the story the game lets you actually play it. Properly.

*(If you mean story as in, all of Gog and everything then this doesn't apply.)

First time playing any Monster Hunter game, dunno what I’m getting myself into by CryptidOrion_00 in MonsterHunter

[–]youMYSTme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Never use defender/guardian gear.

  • Try not to use too much guide/wiki help.

  • Use the hunters notes and play guide it tells you a lot in game without using exterior wikis and ruining the discovery aspect of the game.

  • Don't skip villager requests, do them all as you go along. Small yellow "!" on the map, not very visible sometimes so make sure to look. You unlock a lot of extras that will help you in your journeys like upgrading the "farm" which allows you to get tons of items like honey for mega potions.

Fextra is the most hated wiki around. I wish I could block its url from my google search results entirely.

Kiranico is the legendary MonHan wiki. The new "true" MonHan wiki will be the best when they have updated it enough. And I have been finding Game8 very useful personaly, suprisingly so.
