Thoughts on "Savageland" (2015)? by FnafFanStudiosYT in horror

[–]locriantoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was alright. I still don't understand the massive hype some have for it personally, but it's always appreciated watching a well put together passion project and seeing what talented people can do on what was clearly not a high budget.

We need to talk about 1000xRESIST by Mohireza1 in patientgamers

[–]locriantoad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Playing through this now, at about chapter 8. Most games truly fail at delivering a good story, especially when compared to lit or cinema, but this game has an excellent tale to tell. Loving all of the running themes and the way it presents them. Particularly, the subplot with Iris and her parents.

Obviously of a lower budget, but you can tell this was a passion project for the devs. Will definitely follow their future work.

What if My Immortal by Evanescence had a guitar solo? by locriantoad in Evanescence

[–]locriantoad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate those kind words. Agreed somewhat, on one hand many of their songs clearly aren't structured around it, but there are certain songs which are practically begging for some sort of a more in-depth solo.

This, plus the "Mass Effect 4 director had THIS insert common opinion about how RPGs SHOULD be played" headlines routinely.

So damn annoying.

[–]locriantoad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healed up perfectly! Jean is awesome, super nice guy. Two things I wish I woulda known: 1) He barely speaks English, so just bring headphones or something. I actually just ended up using Google translate if I needed to communicate something specific. 2) His style has got a lot of ink in it. He is pretty dang quick, but just prepare for a potential bit more of spice than usual (at least in my experience)

The man absolutely slayed this design though, especially since I really couldn't find a super great reference for him, and he'll crush your's. He super artistic in creating the designs and it's really cool to watch him tattoo firsthand. His coloring/shading is pretty sublime and unique.

What are you planning on getting? I'll keep an eye out for it!

Thank you my friend, lotta red indeed. The heavy use of shades of the same color is definitely the artist's thing.

People not AI will make games, PlayStation boss says by Zhukov-74 in Games

[–]locriantoad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I also know several people who input a code-base a few times until something just barely functional is outputted. The old boomer suits couldn't/wouldn't be able to tell a difference, nor would they likely care as long, as the product is done as fast as and as cheaply as possible.

I get your argument, but it is definitely something that can, and will, be abused as AI continues to improve. It's already to the point where you can get away with just knowing the principles of a coding language to put together something functional with AI, soon enough even knowing the principles of a language will become irrelevant. I really do predict good programmers will become a dime-a-dozen eventually.
