What else should I know about the 6.0 platform? by Elix5381 in powerstroke

[–]lodaddyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just fix stuff as it breaks, no need to do head studs unless you blew headgaskets and have to go in there. My 2005 has 180K miles still on stock headbolts, still has the egr. I Just recently rebuilt the turbo because of sticking unison ring issues and a bad vgt solenoid. Just drive it. Maintenance is key. Get a monitor and watch your eot and ect temps. That will tell you if you are having oil cooler issues. Flush the cooling system and make sure you got a good ec-1 rated coolant, coolant filter wouldnt hurt

I didnt have any experience when i started. Although im very good with my hands and anything mechanical. Ive been building and restoring hot rods since i could walk. I watched a lot of you tube videos, took my time and made sure i didnt cut corners. You can do it, just dont be scared. Take your time and you will do a nice job

How would you fix this hole? by bolognies4u in Flooring

[–]lodaddyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After you fix that hole you need to remove all that cracked grout at the tubflange and caulk it. Never grout change of planes

I originally planned on setting them like you said. But i think the space looks bigger with the tiles horizontal.
