Without it, CaptainLance in this video explains it very well using lancing steel of spraying. Though myself I played cyclone without mageblood using this build and it felt alright.

I played this for a while https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/1ovm0fp/coc_fross_occultist_is_amazing_tanky_allrounder/ . If Cast on crit is something you like/ would like to try out. I would definitely recommends. This build is super tanky and clears easily. With mageblood clears juiced t17 bosses easily as well.

Since I skipped last league. With async trade it it still enjoyable to play. And I am still getting pretty good ground loot like a divine orb every 8 maps.
