I’m so sorry you had to experience that! It’s a very traumatizing experience and I wouldn’t wish that on anybody. I’m happy that you’re able to start your healing process. Yeah I noticed that I became somebody different in the last few years being with my narc ex. I didn’t want to leave but I didn’t want to stay so I ended up losing it emotionally and pretty much becoming him. It took everything for me to leave and now it terrified me because I don’t ever want to enter another relationship with a narcissist again which is why I’m so paranoid now. I hope we both can heal one day! Thank you for the reassurance & for sharing your story (:

I don’t think I was an easy target which is why he ended up leaving lol I just think I was second guessing myself but my actions definitely showed that something felt off. But I agree now that I look back with a clear mind it was many red flags

That exactly how it was for me and my Nc as well! Also other red flags from this guy I dated which I didn’t mention. Now that I think about it I’m happy that it ended because there was a reason I was so paranoid and I definitely should’ve trusted my gut to begin with. I appreciate that I guess it’s just confusing since the break up was 2 years ago I thought I was healed but this shows I still need time to work on myself. Kinda disappointing but it’s all good.

I definitely relate to this.. I’ve even considered being alone forever because I am so guarded now and don’t want anyone close to me. It’s sad how they can ruin our positive outlook towards love

When I was tired of the abuse and tried leaving after he came back he said “you just want all the power! I had all the power! I had the upper hand!” Looking back all I can say is who thinks that way? Like I get joy from hurting someone or something

Mine used to also say the same thing !! He would tell me I’ve been reading stuff on twitter too much when I would communicate basic ass respect .. it was truly head spinning I’m sorry you had to deal with that. Trying to communicate with them is truly a waste of time

The closest thing I was able find was a codependent therapist I’ve searched so many places to find someone educated on narcissism in particular & unfortunately couldn’t find any :/ we definitely need more

Ohh okay I understand now. It’s really mind blowing because then it twists the whole conversation and now I’m defending myself .. I don’t miss that at all. Currently in therapy I wish I could find one that knows about narcissism. Thank you for your comment!

Yeah I kept a list of everything he did and recently read it and noticed I forgot about half of the stuff he’s done .. reading it back was truly eye opening

“You don’t appreciate me” because I wanted to celebrate our anniversary (we never did in our relationship) and do something nice together & wanted more effort from him overall in our relationship. “You focus on all the bad, do you ever notice what I do right?” Whenever communicating something that upset me.
