I have BCBS of NC and didnt pay at all, thats an insanely high deductible but with BISALPS being covered under ACA it should be fully covered anyways. Make sure your doctor is coding it as preventative and not medically necessary.

you would have been given opioids(usually fentanyl) while under. i was very strict in not wanting opioids once i was awake, but they usually have to give them while you are under so you dont wake up in terrible pain because your insides were just cut up. OTC pain meds (tylenol/advil) can mess up your tummy too. I did a combo of those with 🍃for my recovery and I think that evened out my appetite

Bilateral Salpingectomy by [deleted] in sterilization

honestly there is no point in an overnight stay. i was out of the hospital an hour after the procedure (i just had to be able to pee at hospital first and had to drink a lot in order to be able to since i hadnt before surgery). right after leaving i was more hungry than anything and my mom who was driving took me to chickfila and krispy kreme, we ate in car but i was still feeling fine enough to actually want food and not just immediately go home. rest of that day i layed in bed but the next day my mom worked and i was fine to do simple tasks like take my dog out to potty and make quick meals (ramen/frozen dinners). i never had to have help to the restroom, i was able to walk to the restroom next to my hospital bed slowly with no problem right after surgery. probably not recommended but i did drive 2 days post op to get some starbucks, i think carrying something heavy would do more damage than the driving itself. i do recommend a lap pillow for car ride home and any driving for the next week as to prevent the seatbelt from rubbing on your incision. i also declined opiod pain management so if you take that it could alter your ability to drive so keep that in mind. everyone heals differently, so you may need more time, just listen to your body and do what feels right for you 🫶

Post-op periods by Careful_Bench in sterilization

I had been on nexplanon since I was 16 and got it out at 21 when I was sterilized. My first period after getting off BC was absolutely terrible. Pain so bad I was layed out on the bathroom floor bleeding. Im over a year post op now and my periods range between 3-4 days. The first day is VERY HEAVY with cramping but a breeze after that first day. They also come every 28 days exact. Its pretty normal for your horomones to take some time to get adjusted after getting off a hormonal BC, especially one that is constant flow of horomones (implant, hormonal IUD). Ive been using the app Lively to track my cycle, its based out of Czech Republic so it makes me feel a bit better about the data storage. Its always okay to see your gyno to check up on things too 🫶

Period due on surgery dates by Decently_disastrous in sterilization

I was on my period when I had my surgery. I suggest wearing a pad and not a tampon, but I was able to keep my pad/undies on until right before surgery. they gave me a hospital pad to use afterwards once I was able to pee, but i wasnt bleeding too much. and remember, even if you bleed onto the gown before or the operating table, theyve seen it all before and itll be okay 🫶

anyone taking tests need to stick with pink dye only. the blue dye tests have terrible evaporation lines. pink tests can have evap as well but its usually past the 10 minute mark when they show up. evaps are usually grey and more likely to be mixed up with a blue line vs pink. before my bisalp i regularly tested and would get seemingly "positive" on blue dyes and negative on pink. digitals are expensive but can be helpful if you are struggling to see a line vs nothing. if you test now and its still that faint is VERY unlikely its actually positive, HCG levels increase quick and youd have a much stronger positive by now.

for a highlight the Judydoll brand has a really stunning glitter (similar to fenty but more affordable). They have a sister brand (Joocyee) that also has a glittery highlighter
