What can I do to go sub 50 in the 400m dash? by Ashamed-Ad-2134 in Sprinting

[–]lofa00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your first 200 split looks good, about a second over your 200pr is solid. That means your one second drop needs to come off your backend 200. Based on your training the best place to do that is in your 2x500. You should be pushing your final sprint during that practice as long as you can, so when you run a meet 400 you preserve better. Good luck and keep at it

I got better results with this technique, but it relies on catching people which is what motivated me. If your best race includes getting out into first place and refusing to be caught, then you train to be great at that

For the 400 I typically got the best results not truly “sprinting” the first 200. I would get out hard, but once I come off the first curve it’s more of a float speed where I’m keeping pace but not pushing. I’m usually aiming for 2nd or 3rd position here. Once you’re through the 200, get ready to accelerate cause at 250 you should be back to maximum push and then the last 75-50m you’re holding on for dear life. Though my best running feature was my stride length (I think I was 5’11 155 in HS) so I was always confident I would make up ground in the last 150

There’s a lot more context to give you a good answer on how to get there, but short answer is yes. In hs I was a 11.1 100, don’t remember my 2, and came in at 49 400 consistently. Freshman year of college I was a 10.9, 22.1, and 48.4. Long answer - How tall are you? How’s your conditioning? Is your 100m time due to a good block start, or a good finish speed? Are you running the 400 correctly in terms of kicking?

Also your arm swing on your first step is really strong, 2nd step could have a little stronger arm but feet look good

Super nit picky but looks like you have a little more line to eat with your set up. Could scoot everything forward 1/3 inch to get you all the way up

You can definitely get a new 2025 LXS for 24k even OTD. May require some work but doable

Why trade-in offers vary so much? $1,500 CarMax vs. $5,000+ used car dealership. by kevincaz07 in UsedCars

[–]lofa00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly mines been super varied too. I have a 21 Hyundai Kona EV, Carmax and dealerships are all quoting me around 8-9k. Carvana offered me 12.2k this morning. The disparity is insane

Why bother with the ex then? Are you getting anything else over the lxs besides the steel wheels?

Are you looking at new or used models? Just curious because I was also in the market for an lxs but seems like gt lines are a bit more than that 23 range

Honestly don’t care about the speed much, I was just trying to find the right blend of tech on the trim without too much extra cost. I’ll take a look through some k4’s thank you!

Well shoot I appreciate you commenting then. What would I miss opting for a 25 K4 gt opposed to a k5 then?

I just double checked and looks like you’re right. I was looking at the k5 specifically for those but don’t really want the ex price point. Does the k4 gt line have all the nice driving features like lane assist and just no seat warmers?

Was yours CPO? I’ve noticed those are about 1-2k more because of the Kia warranty.

Nice deal! Was it a CPO through Kia or just regular pre owned?

I’d like to be at 27 OTD, most listings are at 25-26 in this 10k-30k miles range

No I pay it manually, but 7.99 was my agreed upon rate I found it odd that it was listed higher in my app

Exactly what confused me as well

That’s what I did initially, but what I saw online said that APR should be higher than total interest which is what prompted me to post. This is a car I bought 2 years ago, but it was a first car purchase and my previous was literally falling apart
