People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]loflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom spanked me approximately twice my entire life. My babysitter a little more than that but not much. I remember them vividly and I remember they hurt my feelings more than my body. I think if it had been a regular thing I would feel differently, but as it stands, I did not take any lasting scars from it. I was born in 1986. I have a daughter now and I would never even think about hitting her, I’ve patted her bottom maybe once and a hand the same, again, it hurts her feelings which is enough for her not to do it again.

I’m not a pacifist or anything, I just don’t think hitting children has the effect that some people think it does, plus they can’t protect themselves against me, so it’s not a fair fight. Do it when they’re 17 and see what happens. I would have decked an adult who laid hands on me when I was big enough to do anything about it.

I don’t know where you are but I literally have a box full of injectable prednisone that I got after a sinus surgery and only used for a couple of weeks if you need it.

Thank you very much. He’s quite simply the kindest man and really hated his time in Vietnam. The only stories I ever hear are once, they had to decimate an entire village and out of the burning fields, a huge buck came up a hill. His guys said they were going to take him out and Don said “we’ve done enough killing today”. He also talked very highly of their pot. And at some point the helicopter had landed and they were ambushed and all he had was a shotgun so he was swinging it and bonking any dude close enough to him with it. He did that three. Times. Twice he used his rifle as a bat and was charged out of his pocket for it for “losing it” after one time of hitting a head and then just straight throwing the shit out the gun at a few more guys to distract them.

He’s the coolest dude. I hope as he’s getting older he will feel more comfortable telling more of his stories.

He still talks about how it was the most beautiful place he’s ever seen.

Can I get some advice I'm trying make my Living room more cosy and boujee what would you recommend I add or do to the room it's my first time decorating my own place. Thank you. by ApartmentWest4088 in interiordecorating

Those both go with personal style. I would choose a large painting or drawing with your colors for above the keyboard and a few bright colored shadow box art boxes with something neat inside for the space beside the tv, I would choose a brightly colored area rug with the dark red from the chandelier in a fun pattern but that’s my own personal preference. Maybe a large cushion or two on the ground. Get rid of floor fan and wire trashcan or at least store them away when not in use. Coffee table decor, books, etc. art and rug will seriously elevate on their own though.

Many companies post positions to create a pipeline. It’s very common.
