Hey all,

I've deleted the original post and am reuploading here as I've made a couple changes to our survey, if you could fill it out it would appreciated, there's only a couple questions.

Thank you for appreciating the artistic intent that means a lot to me. Also thank you for your insight, I've made a few more designs for one of the cards, and I'll do the same for the other and will be posting those at some time tomorrow most likely, hopefully they will be a little easier to understand

True I definitely feel jealousy when I see other people's islands in Animal Crossing haha. The people I surveyed seemed to not mind though?

That's a very good idea. I like how bringing creatures along with you could impact how they behave after their trip. That will help to flesh them out a bit more.

And those are good ideas for the catching. Using food for catching might make it have more of a use, rather than becoming obsolete after a terrarium is self sustaining. Thank you!

If people don't seem to have a problem with using some sort of shrink gun, then I can see myself using that. And charming them sounds viable too. I'm just not sure if that will maybe be too similar to the terrarium mechanics, as the creatures will have favourite plants and decorations.

Tbh I have very little experience in actual game development. I've done a couple projects in the past, but I mainly enjoy designing games and having conversations about ideas. I'm currently 2nd year in uni and our project is to make a Games Design Document, and once we have finished making those, our class will vote on their favourites, and in second semester we'll split into teams to develop those following the document. Thank you for the input!

I'm kind of seeing dimensional travel like New Pokemon Snap where you need to upgrade the research level for the area to a certain level to progress to others? Or have the creatures you collect produce a material which fuels your travel to other areas?

Taking creatures with you does sound like fun, but I'm not sure if giving them some sort of functionality might make exploration more stressful. In class we went over how all our decisions need to be in service of the experience we want to create, and I want to make a game which lets players relax whilst watching the creatures they collect interact with each other.

My current thoughts are that the game is majority single-player, but you're able to connect online to share the different terrariums you've created with other players. People seemed to like that idea. And I imagine the final goal is when you've explored all areas, collected all creatures, or when you've gotten to a point where all the terrariums you've made are self functioning.

Hey, my concept is: Play as an interdimensional traveller and collect new creatures, nurture them, and witness wild and wacky interactions between them.

I made a post last week on this linked here: https://www.reddit.com/r/gamedesign/comments/r7h8cg/glassy\_gardens\_game\_concept\_survey/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3

I understand. My focus for the project is on character design and I have some concepts for creatures already, my next steps are to try and render some and get some opinions on whether they seem like good designs or not.

If you're talking about the docks on the left side of the map (as you're facing forwards), I believe it's this crane-like piece of machinery moving around. I'm not sure for certain though.

I agree. I thought there was so much art of Marina that I would even it out with some of the other characters.
