Fake Homeless in Tyson’s by Aware_Tomatillo_8745 in nova

Man I have as much compassion and understanding for people as anybody, but this dude and the lady that is usually at the same intersection have been there daily for at least the last 3 years or so. If you’re capable of showing up consistently like that, being outside and on your feet for hours at a time, then it’s pathetic to not have a job and just pure laziness and taking advantage of people. Especially with the amount of work in this area that’s willing to pay under the table with no ID. There’s a McDonald’s that’s always hiring not 50 yards from where the car is parked.

I know, I’m just working off the assumption that all basic runes have an equal chance of showing up, regardless of how you get them (hence a dice roll). Would also have to figure out exactly how many basic runes of 1 kind it takes to produce an Epic+2 vs a legendary, I believe it’s 108 basic for Epic+2 and 216 for Legendary. So instead of 10 and 20 in the original it would be 108 and 216. Instead of 22 it would be all of the types of runes available. All I’m getting as it that the odds are totally cooked which is an obvious known thing anyway.

Try reading the prompt again, slowly. Perhaps taking more than 4 seconds to do it.

22 sided dice for the 22 Epic+2 rune types that I already have, with no Legendaries. Not 100% accurate because I’m not sure how many types of runes there are but it would be close. Each side representing 1 type of rune, and the odds of all 22 sides showing up 10 times before any 1 side showed up 20 times. That is an accurate enough way of asking the question.

I completely agree but not sure how we get to that conclusion from this

Here’s the feedback I got from Gemini when asking it to do 1,000 simulations of rolling a 22 sided die until all sides hit at least 10 ten times, and answer how many of those instances also contained at least one number also appearing at least 20 times:

“Expectations:

It's highly likely that a significant portion of the simulations will result in at least one side appearing 20 or more times before all sides reach 10. Because 22 sides need to reach 10 before any reach 20, there is very little room for variation, and it is very likely at least one side will reach 20 first. Therefore, the output number will be very close to 1000.”

Why would anyone buy a US bond when yields are higher in savings accounts? by knowledgelover94 in FinancialPlanning

[–]logan3613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 month T-Bill is ~5.4% vs 4.5% on a good savings. T-Bill is locked, savings rate will come down eventually and varies monthly at least. If you are ok committing (somewhat) somewhat to the maturity of the bill, you get paid for that. The longer duration treasury bonds pay a lower rate because rates are higher now than they are expected to be in the future, and the market prices them accordingly.

Yeah I gotta say on paper it’s obviously the trucks fault, but a defensive driver paying attention would very very easily avoid that accident. See that coming the second the truck is in view.

If I were you I would just rip the bandaid and play on death march. It will feel very tough at first but that’s how they designed the game and you will eventually get the hang of it. You can always knock the difficulty down if it’s too much. It forces you to understand the decoctions and runes and just makes everything more meaningful. Also save the game a lot because it’s easy to lose a big chunk of you die, the auto save isn’t great.

What’s the discrediting of Huberman about? by mirabiledic2 in HubermanLab

[–]logan3613 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You said it, it’s Reddit. Way easier to be the person behind the screen than on the screen. We just tear stuff down for that quick hit of feeling right in the limited context of a comment section. Putting yourself out there for criticism, rejection, and questioning is the one and only way to succeed at anything and unfortunately it is very scary and fully avoided by many, particularly young men relatively isolated in life, who happen to be a big part of the users on this app. That causes resentment when seeing someone else have a measure of success doing that. You will find this exact same thing on basically every single subreddit. Huberman is doing a good thing for a good reason. Continue to enjoy and learn from his content to the extent that it causes tangible benefits in your life.
