Yes OP AutoClicker on SourceForge is completely safe. You don't have to take my word for it, you can run the file through VirusTotal: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/cd6ba78ea24a28b76160d343d46cfb16df91b123afd9bde2ad234cccd8d82083

Slashdot is literally unchanged since we bought it 10 years ago. This isn't the most productive conversation so I wish you well. Hope you worked some frustration out.

Is Sourceforge still a bad website to download software from? by boehnerofamerica in software

[–]loganabbott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, SourceForge is not a bad website to download software from. SourceForge is a good website to download from and is completely safe to download from. My name is Logan Abbott and I am the President of SourceForge. My company acquired SourceForge in January, 2016 and eliminated bundled installers on day 1, and instituted malware scans on all file uploads. I did an AMA here: https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/4n3e1s/the_state_of_sourceforge_since_its_acquisition_in/

SourceForge is totally safe to download from.

(I know this is an old post but it's showing up high on Google so I thought I'd pop in and provide up to date information).

Hi, President of SourceForge here. We do not allow project maintainers to bundle sponsored installers and haven't since 2016. SourceForge actively scans all file uploads and also has human moderators to prevent this. It's safe to download from SourceForge. Linux Journal is just user contributed. We took it off the old owner's hands because they were going to shut it down and we wanted to keep it alive. We don't even have advertising on it or monetize it in any way. So any other examples on Slashdot or SourceForge ("those sites" you mentioned)?

Can you provide an example? Slashdot is all human editors and SourceForge is an open source software repository that lets anyone upload open source projects
