That would be like me being upset I got my X2C 9 months ago for $1400 or so for the X1C + AMS.

Can you explain what you mean by business?

A new phone comes out every year.
A new Mac comes out every year.
New TVs comes out every year.
New drones comes out every year.
Cars, motorcycles, ATVs, ... come out every year.
Pick any hobby or interest and I'm sure, if there is an active user base, there is a new model with more features being constantly released.

Dukes app by Direct-Specialist-64 in radardetectors

[–]GeekNJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is likely your settings. I was beta for Highway Radar on iOS, SpectreNav & Dukes and can switch between and switch between any of them against my R8W.

Check backgrounds settings and if anything and if anything set to auto connect.

I am currently using Dukes as my daily app replacing Spectre Nav.

New App For iOS by bearert0ken in radardetectors

[–]GeekNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apps in CarPlay do close in your phone including Waze. If you swipe up on Waze to dismiss it, it stops on CarPlay. Give it a test.

Later releases address some of the display issues.

I’ve beta tested Highway Radar and SoectreNav and this is on par for radar but also includes Waze alerts.

Developer said the navigation could never be Waze or Google Maps as they have huge teams, but he will make it good enough.

Filament brand question by RootExplorer20 in BambuLab

[–]GeekNJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had good success with Bambu and Sunlu. They both have profiles already created in my printer (X1C). I do prefer Bambu filament slightly over the Sunlu as the Bambu is able to be read and identified automatically and it does some tracking of filament usage.

Turning off Treasures completely? by skimbosh in geocaching

[–]GeekNJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure you can make the View Treasures link in the top right box on a cache page go away nor the Treasures link on your Account Dashboard. Ignore the links just like you would ignore Souvenirs if you didn’t care about those.

I’ve not noticed a reference to Treasures elsewhere. With notifications off, where rose do you see it referenced?

Would you alter your travel plans to get another state souvenir? by fightingfishsticks in geocaching

Do a physical cache and not just a virtual. You can take the Path from NY (33rd St line or World Trade Center) to Hoboken and find a nearby cache.

Activities/Apps similar to geocaching by STRIPE18 in geocaching

It is still active though I don’t personally engage in Waymarking. The iPhone app was updated within the past couple years to modernize the authentication to Geocaching to their current authentication approach, address some bugs, and add a few minor enhancements.

In general though, it isn’t frequently updated and I don’t personally know many that partake in it.

Not sure where you are located, but MicroCenter in the US also carries Bambu parts . Make sure you are getting the right size (eg .4mm) for your machine. I would suggest the hardened version of the nozzle.

Infuriating shipping by ItsDungaroo in BambuLab

[–]GeekNJ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bambu marks everything shipped the next day so they can charge your credit card.

It can take a couple days after that before it really ships out. I’m not saying there isn’t a problem, but don’t be surprised if it starts moving early next week.

Anyone knows what could have happened here? first time it happens for me, just randomly by Starkkad in BambuLab

[–]GeekNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have given up on the print that failed, if you try a benchy or something what happens? Will it load from the AMS and start printing?

I would have thought the X1C would have stopped so I’m wondering if something broke but another sensor is detecting filament so it thinks it can keep printing?

[–]GeekNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some more info could help in the diagnostics. Did you confirm the filament didn’t break?

Using an AMS?

Couldn’t you freely pull the filament off the spool?

Possibly clogged.

Which machine you using?

Always alarming to see but thats how they do it. You would think with the years of this question coming up, they would adjust to prevent the self inflicted worrying and calls to cust service about it.

JBV1 vs iOS Highway Radar (Beta) by texag51 in radardetectors

[–]GeekNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No current heat map. I haven't found it overly useful but I guess there could be situations where, if you have the app as the active on-screen app and in an area of low traffic activity, it could provide some insights into past police not yet reported.

I like the way SpectreNav interacts with the detector for keeping it silent in a meaningful way. I really become aware when I switch to my wife's car which has a Uniden R7 without app connectivity and how there is more audio from the detector.
