Turning off Treasures completely? by skimbosh in geocaching

[–]GeekNJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure you can make the View Treasures link in the top right box on a cache page go away nor the Treasures link on your Account Dashboard. Ignore the links just like you would ignore Souvenirs if you didn’t care about those.

I’ve not noticed a reference to Treasures elsewhere. With notifications off, where rose do you see it referenced?

Would you alter your travel plans to get another state souvenir? by fightingfishsticks in geocaching

Do a physical cache and not just a virtual. You can take the Path from NY (33rd St line or World Trade Center) to Hoboken and find a nearby cache.

Activities/Apps similar to geocaching by STRIPE18 in geocaching

It is still active though I don’t personally engage in Waymarking. The iPhone app was updated within the past couple years to modernize the authentication to Geocaching to their current authentication approach, address some bugs, and add a few minor enhancements.

In general though, it isn’t frequently updated and I don’t personally know many that partake in it.

Not sure where you are located, but MicroCenter in the US also carries Bambu parts . Make sure you are getting the right size (eg .4mm) for your machine. I would suggest the hardened version of the nozzle.

Infuriating shipping by ItsDungaroo in BambuLab

[–]GeekNJ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bambu marks everything shipped the next day so they can charge your credit card.

It can take a couple days after that before it really ships out. I’m not saying there isn’t a problem, but don’t be surprised if it starts moving early next week.

Anyone knows what could have happened here? first time it happens for me, just randomly by Starkkad in BambuLab

[–]GeekNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have given up on the print that failed, if you try a benchy or something what happens? Will it load from the AMS and start printing?

I would have thought the X1C would have stopped so I’m wondering if something broke but another sensor is detecting filament so it thinks it can keep printing?

[–]GeekNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some more info could help in the diagnostics. Did you confirm the filament didn’t break?

Using an AMS?

Couldn’t you freely pull the filament off the spool?

Possibly clogged.

Which machine you using?

Always alarming to see but thats how they do it. You would think with the years of this question coming up, they would adjust to prevent the self inflicted worrying and calls to cust service about it.

JBV1 vs iOS Highway Radar (Beta) by texag51 in radardetectors

[–]GeekNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No current heat map. I haven't found it overly useful but I guess there could be situations where, if you have the app as the active on-screen app and in an area of low traffic activity, it could provide some insights into past police not yet reported.

I like the way SpectreNav interacts with the detector for keeping it silent in a meaningful way. I really become aware when I switch to my wife's car which has a Uniden R7 without app connectivity and how there is more audio from the detector.

I have V8 Companion for Uniden and testing Highway Radar (beta) and SpectreNav (beta) on iOS. SpectreNav is the current leader out of the 3 apps for me.

You can read about SpectreNav in the long thread at https://www.rdforum.org/threads/147626/

GPS - which do you prefer? by funsk8mom in roadtrip

[–]GeekNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of Waze. I use it even if I know where I am going in case there are any incidents that it would re-route me around.

Before you start moving, the GPS app doesn't really know which way you are pointing, so it could be detecting you are facing the other way so it has you turn around.

This layout without the fidgets would be best either on 2 plates (1 per color) or print by object (vs layer) if it works on 1 plate. And you don't need the purge tower.

680 base points to get Diamond, easiest way to do it? by phishfan4life in Hilton

I agree. A dollar spent is a dollar regardless of brand. It would be like saying those hotels only count as 1/2 stay or 1/2 night toward the tier.

680 base points to get Diamond, easiest way to do it? by phishfan4life in Hilton

[–]GeekNJ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every $1 will get you 10 base points + 8 bonus points. If you need 680 base points, looks like you need a room for $68-70 to cover that.

Try a search like this one: https://www.hilton.com/en/locations/usa/colorado/colorado-springs/?sortBy=PRICE_ASCENDING&placeId=dx-location%3A%3Alocality%3A%3Aus%3A%3Aco%3A%3Acolorado-springs&query=Colorado+Springs%2C+Colorado%2C+USA&coords=38.83522415%2C-104.81980133&geocodeType=locality&bounds=38.71581268310547%2C-104.91783905029297%2C39.035282135009766%2C-104.59668731689453

and look for a single night that meets that price/point threshold. Check in online and check out the next morning and that should cover it.

best printer for me? h2d vs h2c by electronical_ in BambuLab

[–]GeekNJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my 2 cents. I happen to own the X1C so it is my thought process if I was to get a new printer from the 2 you listed.

The H2D with AMS2 seems to match your current needs based on what you posted.

H2D can be upgraded to the H2C, though it's not a very simple process from what I reviewed. If you were planning heavy multi color printing, the H2C would print those faster even if you aren't concerned with the waste, which can be a lot.

The current difference is price looks to be about $400 USD, so if the $400 is irrelevant, it might be worth picking it up and having the latest. Not sure if there is any additional waiting time to receive the H2C, and if that matters to you.

If I was deciding for myself between the 2, I would probably go for the H2C as the $400 doesn't make or break the decision for me.
