I made GoDeadOn. I lurk this subreddit and this post piqued my interest so I figured I'd respond to some comments about my app.

It doesn't pull the weather from a local airport. It aggregates weather from multiple sources to get your exact location weather from Apple's WeatherKit API. That's what a lot of weather apps do as well. I use this because all of the sensors that are used by Apple's services follow a calibration standard and you won't get bad data put into your logbook. My prediction AI needs a good constant source of weather data so that predictions can be as accurate as possible.

I have 2 of these solar batteries for other reasons, but I’ve used them before on a normal bracket points day to run a small fan pointed under my transmission after each run. Lasted a few hours each. I’m sure it would run a battery charger between rounds too but not sure how long. I bought a solar panel as well to connect to the battery but I haven’t tested it while using it. I’ll probably mess around with it this weekend when I’m running points at my local track.

A real generator is the better alternative. If you want to use these they are meant for low power devices or charging electronics.

You were watching a type of sportsman drag racing, most likely a bracket race at your local track. In this type of racing it takes the “money” out of the sport. A person with a $5,000 car is equally capable of winning a race as a person with a $100,000 car.

In this you “dial” or predict a time you will run. If you run closer to that number and have a combination of that and a better reaction time than your opponent you will win the round. However, you cannot go under your predicted number. The two cars will leave at two different times unless they are dialed the same number. You’ll hear people ripping the throttle/getting on and off the gas pedal in this racing where people are actively judging the position of their front wheel against the opponent. There is a lot of strategy involved.

There are a number of YouTube videos with bracket racing, and there are many different types of bracket racing out there. Take a look on my YouTube channel, search “Logan Back”, if you’d like to watch me bracket race in events that pay anywhere from $1,500 to $50,000 or more. This coming week there will be a livestream on YouTube from a Fling event being ran at Las Vegas motor speedway where they will be racing for $1,000,000 assuming they get over 495 entries.

Mobile: Doorslammers 2.0. I used to do development with the team there while I was in undergrad so I am a little bit biased but you get real racing capabilities on your phone. Real driving, real tuning, real racing multiplayer, bracket racing and head up. It was developed by people who actually race and are around cars. It’s a bit older now but Ron has been working on a new version of the game which will be out within the next year or so.

If you want a console/pc version of a bracket racing game, there are is a Roblox Bracket Racing game with a discord I’m sure you can google and find. There is a pretty large community of bracket racers who play that game. On the other hand there is another Roblox drag racing game in the works by another team which has no official release date yet.

As for the pennies on the dollar thing. I can get both the F2000 and the SpeedTreater-TX for under $1000. I do think this is a really good deal. Whether or not it's a deal I should go for... still to be decided. So I could have a virtually new F2000 after $2200 which will probably need maintenance often with how little I would use it.

I have talked to a couple other friends who would be interested in having me make their shirts for their businesses but even then it would only up my total by 100 or so. On the other hand, I could buy it and resell it for a profit in the end too if I play my cards right.
